We discourage bringing electronic handheld devices. Report dangerous practices of students immediately to picnic volunteers or the Calgary Police Service (CPS).

Be Green
We RECYCLE. Please use the appropriate bins for drink containers, cardboard and trash. PLEASE do not litter.

Establish Safety Procedures

Group the students with their adult supervisor. Ensure students are wearing nametags which include school name. Determine a designated meeting area and a periodic check-in system. Have students use the Buddy System. Show students the location of the Lost & Found tent. - Located inside the Park across from Midnapore train station (the first train station you see when you enter the Park). - Instruct students to go to Lost & Found and stay there if they get lost.

Preparing to Leave the Park
Bus departure groups: Ensure that your entire group is accounted for before going to the bus departure area near the front gate. See chart below and picnic site map for your assigned bus departure area. Schools must arrive at their bus departure area 15 minutes prior to their scheduled departure time. Each school will receive an Exit sign which is a colourcoded sign with your departure time and school name. Bring this sign to the picnic. To leave the park, you must show your sign to picnic volunteers at the exit gate. When the buses are ready to load, school groups will be signalled to enter the parking lot. Keep your coloured Exit sign visible to picnic volunteers so we know you are in the correct departure group. You will be given directions by volunteers at the bus departure areas. Walking & carpooling groups: May depart at anytime. You must show your coloured Exit sign to volunteers at the exit gate when you are leaving. The exit area will be extremely busy from 1:00 2:00 pm.
