Downloading and Installing Network License Manager files


To download the NLM files Download the nlm11.10_ipv4_win64.exe file to your desktop.

To install the Autodesk Network License Manager

1. Double-click the nlm11.10_ipv4_win64.exe file on your desktop. This will extract the NLM.msi file
to C:\install\Autodesk\NLMIPv4Support_Win64 and start the installer wizard.

2. If the installer wizard does not start automatically, locate the new NLM.msi file and double-click it
to start the installer wizard. Follow instructions on the screen.

3. After installation is complete, click Close.


To start the Network License Server You should be logged in with Administrator rights when working with the LMTOOLS utility.

Right-click the LMTOOLS icon on the desktop and click Run As Administrator. Click the Config Services tab and provide all necessary information. Click the Save Service button and then click the Start/Stop/Reread tab. On the Start/Stop/Reread tab, click Start Server.

5. Close lmtools.exe.

Feature Limitations and Notes


Environment
This implementation supports mixed IPv4/IPv6 and IPv6-only environments. It does not support network license checkouts in an IPv4-only environment.

Downloading and Updating IPv6 Support Files


You must already have the Autodesk Network License Manager installed in order to apply the IPv6 Support update. If you do not already have the Autodesk Network License Manager installed on your server, refer to the Network Licensing Guide in the Help system for installation instructions. To download the IPv6 Support software

Before you can perform any system maintenance on your license server, including updates, you must stop the license server. When you have completed the update, you must restart the license server.

Download the nlm11.10_ipv6_win64.exe file to your desktop.

To stop the Network License Server You should be logged in with Administrator rights when working with the LMTOOLS utility.

Right-click the LMTOOLS icon on the desktop and click Run As Administrator. In the LMTOOLS program, click the Start/Stop/Reread tab. On the Start/Stop/Reread tab, click Stop Server, wait 15 seconds, and then proceed. Close lmtools.exe. Locate the existing installed Autodesk Network License Manager files: lmtools.exe, lmutil.exe, lmgrd.exe, and adskflex.exe. Their default location is C:\Program Files\Autodesk Network License Manager\.

6. Create a back-up copy of the existing Network License Manager files.


To update the Autodesk Network License Manager for IPv6

1. Double-click the nlm11.10_ipv6_win64.exe file on your desktop. The IPv6 Support


files, lmtools.exe, lmutil.exe, lmgrd.exe, and adskflex.exe, are extracted to C:\install\Autodesk\NLMIPv6Support_Win64.

2. Copy the new IPv6 Support files from C:\install\Autodesk\NLMIPv6Support_Win64 to the location
where your existing Autodesk Network License Manager is installed.

3. When prompted to replace the existing files, click Yes.


To restart the Network License Server You should be logged in with Administrator rights when working with the LMTOOLS utility.

Right-click the LMTOOLS icon on the desktop and click Run As Administrator. In the LMTOOLS program, click the Start/Stop/Reread tab. On the Start/Stop/Reread tab, click Start Server. Close lmtools.exe.
