FALSEWORK FOR CONCRETE STRUCTURES GUIDELINES
1 SCOPE 1.1 These guidelines cover the common requirements of materials, design and construction of falsework, as applied to general building and ordinary civil engineering constructions excluding bridges and special structures. General building construction for the purpose of this code, means structures up to 4 storeys or 15 m height and dead load of formwork and concrete not exceeding 20 kN/m2. The provisions of these guidelines can be applied to other buildings and structures with additional requirements. 1.2 The requirements of special falsework systems, such as moving forms, climbing forms, slipforms, flying forms, etc, are not covered in these guidelines. It also does not govern many requirements of moulds for precast and prestressed concrete components, architectural concrete and lost forms. 2 REFERENCES The Indian Standards listed in Annex A contain provisions which through reference in this text, constitute provision of this standard. At the time of publication, the editions indicated were valid.
