National Geographic Traveler started an article called Tours of a Lifetime and put The Island of Sumatera and the link of Java-Bali-Nusa Tenggara as two of Asias Should visit list on 2011. Competing with other Asias countries such as India, Sri Lanka, China, Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand, Indonesia put two places on the list, making this country, tied with People Republic of China, as the most numerous best places, although Indonesia could actually outnumbered China since National Geographic also put Borobudur Temple which is the largest Buddhist temple in the world and an ex- seven world wonders, as the Should Be Visited on the travelers cultural journey, especially if anyone is looking for mystical and spiritual journey. Other than just the beauty of the nature like Sibayak Volcano, Sumatera has more than just it. Cultural value offered by Batak Karo Village on Northern Sumatera and the sanctuary for Indonesias endangered endemic animal, The Orang Utan, on Gunung Leuseur National Park, Aceh Province made this island worth to be on the list. The good value and chance to do voluntary work for the Aceh also became the reason why we must visit this island. While The Island of Bali had enjoyed its fame for years, the magazine stated that traveler should look for more than just Bali, but also the beauty of the islands that surrounded it including Java and Nusa Tenggara. The Komodo Island was being mentioned as the power of Nusa Tenggara to appeal more tourists although the journey around Java-Bali-Nusa Tenggara would cost $ 4,475 for 12 days trip. This cost is far cheaper than the other tour offers by other countries. In Russia for example, the whole tour to Siberian White Water would cost $5,660 or $6,795 for Syrias archeological journey.
