OJT REPORT
I t is always the simple things that change our lives. And these things never happen when you are looking for them to happen. Life will reveal answers at the pace life wishes to do so. You feel like running, but life is on a stroll. This is how God does things.

During my 25 day stay at Adefuin Design Studio, I admit that Ive not done great things like my other colleagues did. But with small things and tasks that were assigned to me, ive realized things that helped and will always help me in my studies and in the career that I will face in the future. At first, im doubting that I will learn something that will really boost my knowledge in the design area. But I learned that with the small things that ive done, and

gradually, ive learned a lot.

First of all I would like to thank my superiors for their understanding especially for the times that I committed mistakes. And I really like to thank them for guiding me throughout this OJT period. At last, I started to accept criticisms and willingly learn to slightly reduce my mistakes from time to time. Ive also learned to listen to my superiors for I know that they will help me improve my work.

Furthermore, Im very grateful that they expose me on what I must

know regarding the work which suits my course. Im very thankful that they treat me like them and they trust me with my work. I appreciate so much the working environment I had with in the company because it helps me absorbed what I need to know.

In the first day of our stay in this company, we were

oriented with the basic rules that were already set and told us what we
could expect to learn for the time being We were taught of the basic things that we need to do and know, and with that, we looked forward to what we would learn. We were taught to organize files and stocks

that were pre-delivered by the suppliers. At first, we were clueless to

how we will arrange things that will suit the preferences of our superiors. Apparently, we figured something out and at our view, somehow, it worked out fine. But I admit that in every task we make, I

am doubting that I did the right thing.

The following days, we were taught of the basics of the softwares that designers use in making project presentations. I am relly grateful for this because I really looked forward learning to use the Autocadd and the 3d modelling software. Before I came here, I relly have so little knowledge about these especially in Autocadd. Im a bit wary about myself having difficulty using this. In class, I admit that I only

learned so little. I believe that I will learn so much outside school. Thats
why Im really grateful for I learned that I have improved so much in the past few weeks. I can finally use shortcuts and commands effectively and I developed a faster paced work. I developed confidence in using softwares

effectively.

In the next days, we were told to organize swatches and stocks that are in the stock room. While doing this, we realized that in order to arrange these things, we must put them in a storage box so, we decided to make some out of materials that requires less cost. We were also taught of the basic tips and tricks in Google sketchup, a software that provides 3d modelling and photorealistic interior rendering. We practiced on plans that we made and designed ourselves. In the long run, while plotting design, I developed easy ways to create models. I used shortcuts and used the internet as a resource to learn about the software further. Honestly, Im a

person that desires repetition of work especially when im only starting to learn about something. I
believe that in repetition, I will develop a skill that if nit fully, partly useful. And in every mistakes that ive made throughout the work process, Ive developed a way finding that made it easier for me to navigate the software tools and commands. In the end, in every trial that Ive made, it made me realize

materials and settings that I must apply and what I must not apply when rendering and I must say that
I have improved a lot in this area.

We were also taught how to organize fabric deliveries by encoding the fabric codes and colors, along with the date in which the fabrics were received. At first I find this work a bit tiring because it requires keen filing because we cannot commit mistakes in this part. But in the latter Ive realized that by doing this, wayfinding thorughout the fabric book swatches would be a lot easier especially when the designers are in need of a particular fabric. Lastly, we were exposed to site visits. I have gone to one site, which was in Infinity tower in Global city. I have learned finishes that Ive not yet encountered especially the duco finish. Ive also realized that to produce a good design product, a good project plan has to be possible along with the people that is part of the work. Ive also realized that we must be strict to our partners in construction because if we dont, they may possibly deliver a slow pace of work and low quality end product.

In the end, I realized that the simple things that ive done

throughout those 25 days made an impact although in a subtle way.

The every day experiences I had in this company are really treasured. The knowledge I obtain here are beyond compare than any other experiences I acquired from school and supplementary learning

from books. What I had here will always be with me and rest assured I
will apply what Ive in every circumstance that I may encounter after these.

End.
