Unit Plan: Graphing Linear Equations and Functions

This unit plan focuses on teaching students to graph linear equations and functions. Students will learn techniques for graphing lines including making tables, plotting two points, and using the slope and y-intercept. They will practice identifying vertical, horizontal, and parallel lines. The unit aims to help students use linear graphs to model and solve real-world problems. A variety of lessons are outlined to develop students' skills in graphing, calculating slope, writing equations in slope-intercept form, solving equations graphically, and identifying functions.
