Aim and Objectives

The aim of the course is to provide students with both theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic circuit design, instrumentation, and hands-on experience through practical work. The objectives are to design an effective syllabus, equip students with fundamental concepts and skills, develop specific practical abilities, train students in circuit design, analysis, building and testing, and prepare them to demonstrate their knowledge. These objectives will be achieved through implementing the syllabus for second year BE students in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and providing a foundation for third year courses.

Aim and Objectives : The aim of the course is to generate the manpower with adequate theory and practical

knowledge of the electronic circuit design, instrumentations and practical work along with hands on experiences of the practical work. Following are the objectives i) To design the syllabus with specific focus on key Learning Areas. ii) To equip student with necessary fundamental concepts and knowledge base. iii) To develop specific practical skills. iv) To impart training on circuit design , analysis , building and testing. v) To prepare students for demonstrating the acquired knowledge. vi) To encourage student to develop skills for accepting challenges of upcoming technological advancements. These objectives can be achieved by implementing this syllabus at the second year B.E. Electrical and Electronic engineering . Also it will provide foundation for the T.Y. EEE course.

in industry, engineers are expected to be skilful employees. As a Higher Education (HE) institution claiming to educate engineers, we have to ascertain that upon qualification, our graduates are fully equipped and prepared to work as engineers. However, HE institutions are often failing to thoroughly assess the basic engineering abilities of students. Students are very rarely, if at all, individually tested or assessed on practical engineering skills. For many years OSCEs have proved to be the gold standard examination of several healthcare related disciplines. This could also be an appropriate assessment tool to individually challenge engineering students and evaluate their skills over a series of varied short tasks

related to their study area. Following are the objectives for third year i) Be able to identify necessary known and unknown information towards a solution and the process to be followed to arrive at a solution..
Work effectively in small groups through well-developed problem solving skills and be able to organize the group to optimize performance and results. Provide students with essential tools for further study in engineering.

Following are the objectives for final year

Industrial Training refers to work experience that is relevant to professional development prior to graduation.
Apply the engineering problem solving process to solve basic engineering design and analysis problems. Solve basic analytical (and design) problems using engineering tools, and be proficient and efficient in the use of these tools. Choose appropriate tools to solve specific engineering problems.

Identify with what it means to be an Engineer and being a part of the engineering community (at Vanderbilt) through exposure to practicing engineers, engineering faculty, graduate students, and fellow undergraduate students. Understand the focus of each (selected) engineering major and then be able to make an informed choice on a direction of study. Begin building professional relationships with faculty members within the students department of interest.

BS in Electrical Engineering Program Educational Objectives

To enable students to enter into the electrical engineering field by providing them with the fundamental knowledge necessary for the practice of electrical engineering, including scientific principles, rigorous analysis, and creative design, to meet the requirements of employer constituents.
