Interesting Conversation Between DR Zakir Naik and A Christian
In the Holy Quran, it says Believe in the messenger, Prophet Muhammad and the Holy Bible says Those who believe in Jesus will have eternal life and both as according to the Quran are messengers of God so I would like to know where did Jesus make his mistake that he is unable to save humanity? Dr Zakir Naik: Christopher asked a very good question. The Quran says Believe in Muhammad (PBUH), the Bible says Believe in Jesus, he will give you eternal life. So where did Jesus make a mistake? Jesus Christ never made a mistake. According to us, Jesus Christ is one of the mightiest messengers of God. When Jesus says, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me, he is correct. That means he was the messenger of God. This was the same thing that the Prophet Muhammad said. At the time of Jesus (PBUH), according to the Gospel of John (Chapter 14, Verse 6), Jesus Christ (PBUH) said I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me; this means that if you follow the teachings of Jesus Christ (PBUH), you will go to your Father which means you will enter Paradise; eternal life means Paradise. Similarly, Jesus Christ also says I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. In the Gospel of John (Chapter 16, Verse 7), Nevertheless, I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart , I will send him unto you. He is referring to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Therefore today as a Christian if you really love Jesus (PBUH), you have to follow the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). So Jesus Christ never made a mistake. It is the Church which says Jesus is God. Jesus Christ never claimed divinity. If any Christian can point out a single unambiguous statement where Jesus Christ (PBUH) himself says that I am God or he says Worship me, I am ready to accept Christianity. It is the Church that has made a mistake and not Jesus Christ (PBUH). In fact Jesus Christ (PBUH) said in the Gospel of John (Chapter 14, Verse 28), My Father is greater than I, Gospel of John (Chapter 10, Verse 29), My Father is greater than all, Gospel of Matthew (Chapter 12, Verse 38), I cast thou devil with the spirit of God., Gospel of Luke (Chapter 11, Verse 20), I with the finger of God cast thou devil, Gospel of John (Chapter 5, Verse 30), I can of my own self do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and my judgement is just, because I do not seek my own will, but the will of him who sent me.Anyone who says I seek not my will but the will of the almighty God is a Muslim. Jesus Christ (PBUH) was a Muslim. He never claimed divinity. And it is clearly mentioned in the book of Ax (Chapter 2, Verse 22) that Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God amongst you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know. So never did Jesus Christ (PBUH) claim divinity and Jesus Christ (PBUH) was never wrong. It is the false understanding of the Bible. So I as a believer in Jesus Christ (PBUH), a person who loves Jesus Christ (PBUH), I say that I am more Christian than the Christians themselves. If Christian means a person who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ (PBUH), Im more Christian than the Christians themselves. Jesus Christ himself said in the Gospel of Matthew (Chapter 5, Verses 7-20), Think not that I have come to destroy the law, or the Prophets; I have not come to destroy but to fulfil. For until the heavens and the Earth pass away, not one jot or tittle shall pass away from the law until all be fulfilled. For whosoever shall break one of the least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be least in the kingdom of Heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of Heaven unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes
and the Pharisees, in no way shall you enter the kingdom of Heaven. So Jesus Christ (PBUH) said you cannot break a single law or tittle of the Old Testament. Its mentioned in the Old Testament, Book of Leviticus (Chapter 11, Verses 7-8), You should not eat pork, Book of Deuteronomy (Chapter 14, Verse 8), You should not have pork, it is mentioned in the Book of Isaiah (Chapter 65, Verse 225), You should not eat pork. The Christians have pork but the Muslims do not. It is mentioned in the Book of Ecclesiastes (Chapter 5, Verse 18) and the Book of Proverbs (Chapter 20, Verse 8) that you should not be drunk with wine; we Muslims dont have alcohol but the Christians have alcohol. In the Gospel of Luke, it says that Jesus (PBUH) was circumcised on the 8th day. The Muslims are circumcised whilst most of the Christians are not circumcised. So if Christian means a person who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ (PBUH), we Muslims are more Christian than the Christians themselves. We love Jesus Christ. We respect Jesus Christ. We revere him. We follow him but we dont worship him because he was the messenger of God and was not God himself. I hope that answers the question. Christopher: I believe that Jesus is the messenger of God but I do not believe that Muhammad (PBUH) is the messenger of God and this is because I believe in the Bible. Dr Zakir Naik: But the Bible says in the Gospel of John (Chapter 16, Verses 12-14), Jesus Christ said I have many things to say to you but you cannot bear them now, for he when the spirit of truth shall come, he shall guide you all to truth, he shall not speak of himself... he shall glorify me. Who is this person that Jesus Christ (PBUH) is talking about? (Silence) Dr Zakir Naik: Who? Havent you studied your Bible? Christopher: Yes. He is speaking about the Holy Spirit of the Lord. Dr Zakir Naik: Ok, Very good. That means you know your Bible. Now, you are saying that this spirit of truth that Jesus Christ is talking about is the Holy Spirit. Go a few verses before, Gospel of John (Chapter 16, Verse 7), it says that it is expedient for you that I go away for if I go not away, the Comforter shall not come. The criteria for this spirit to come is that Jesus Christ (PBUH) should depart For if I go away, I shall send him. The Holy Spirit was already there before Jesus Christ (PBUH) came, the Holy Spirit was there when Jesus Christ was there, he was there when Jesus was being baptised so how can this be the Holy Spirit? Can you tell me? That means you dont understand the Bible. Jesus Christ says For if I go not away, the Comforter shall not come... For if I go, shall I send him. So the requirement for the spirit of truth to come is that Jesus Christ (PBUH) should depart. When Jesus Christ is there, the Comforter cannot come. The Holy Spirit was already there when Jesus was there. So how can you say this prophecy refers to the Holy Spirit? Can you help me understand the Bible? It doesnt refer to the Holy Spirit. It refers to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). And this prophecy is also mentioned in the Old Testament in the Book of Deuteronomy (Chapter 18, Verses 18 and 19), it is mentioned in the Book of Isaiah (Chapter 29, Verse 12), in the Song of Solomon (Chapter 5, Verse 16), in the New Testament, Gospel of John (Chapter 14, Verse 16), Gospel of John (Chapter 15, Verse 26), Gospel of John (Chapter 16, Verse 7), Gospel of John (Chapter 16, Verses 12-14); all these references are talking about nobody but Muhammad (PBUH). I am asking you now if you believe in the Bible, when Jesus Christ has prophesised the coming of the
Prophet Muhammad, why dont you believe in Jesus when he says that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the last messenger. Why? That means that you believe half the teachings of Jesus Christ. Christopher: Because the teaching says, Ill send you a comforter. He never mentioned about a person or any name was indicated there. Dr Zakir Naik: Ok. In Song of Solomon (Chapter 5, Verse 16), I am quoting in Hebrew, Hikko Mamittakim we kullo Muhammadim Zehdoodeh wa Zehraee Bayna Jerusalem." The prophet by name is mentioned. Muhammad is the name and im is for respect. The English translation of the name means that he is altogether lovely, Oh daughters of Jerusalem. His name is also mentioned in the Old Testament, Song of Solomon (Chapter 5, Verse 16). So what do you believe? Christopher: Ill go through it and confirm myself; hopefully tonight. Dr Zakir Naik: In that case, tomorrow morning you can contact the organiser and get hold of me. Either you accept Islam or if you can prove to me otherwise, I shall accept Christianity. If you cannot, you accept Islam. Christopher: Ok. Praise the Lord! The references were all checked and proved to be true and correct!
