Staff Development Lesson Plan

Topic: Museum Box Overview of the Lesson: After attending the Annual Conference on Childrens Literature in Athens, Georgia and learning more about Museum Box, I decided I would like to teach a staff development lesson on this topic to a group of teachers. Museum Box is a way for students to present information that allows them to create a cube project that can be shared with others. Students can use photos, sounds, text, and even videos to make their presentation more interesting. I presented my technology lesson to four second grade teachers. I met with them during their weekly grade level meeting. All four teachers have been teaching over ten years, but all were very comfortable and knowledgeable with technology usage. I presented a basic overview of museum box. I introduced the teachers to ways to use the tool to engage students in the construction of knowledge. I showed them ways to use this tool to design curriculum-designed activities that will bring learning to life. Standards Addressed: ISTE's NETS for Teachers (NETST) 1.
