 🎯 What is the UAT?

As of 2024, AAU transitioned from centralized student placement by the Ministry of Education to a
competition-based admission policy. This means prospective undergraduate students must now take an
AAU-specific standardized test — the UAT — in addition to their national exam scores .

The UAT has two sections:

1.Verbal Reasoning (55 questions): reading, writing, language

2.Quantitative Reasoning (45 questions): algebra, data analysis, problem-solving, advanced math

It’s a 100-question multiple-choice test, with a total duration of 2 hours (60 minutes per section) .

🧾 Registration & Payment

Register online through the AAU portal (portal.aau.edu.et).
