Entrance test About C-DAC
The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), an institution of Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and IT, Government of India represents a unique facet to the nation's policies and initiatives in Information Technology. It is an institution for high-end research and development (R&D). C-DAC is internationally recognized for its celebrated PARAM series of supercomputers, multilingual and multimedia products, software technology, high-end trainings and several other advanced computing initiatives. Interested candidates, who fulfil the eligibility requirements for obtaining admission to the FPGDST/FPGDIS-2011 courses through the entrance test, should enter the A-3 application form on-line or download this form from http://cst.cdacmumbai.in, fill this in manually, attach the necessary documents and send it to C-DAC, Juhu, Mumbai on or before July 1, 2011. Candidates or their representatives may submit the application form in person at C-DAC, Juhu, Mumbai, on all working days (Monday to Friday), between 9.30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Admission to CDAC's FPGDST and FPGDIS courses

Check-list of items to be submitted for applying for this test:

1. A-3 Open Admission application form (preferably entered online at the web-site). 2. Copy of the convocation degree certificate from the University OR a provisional/passing certificate from the University OR copies of the 1st semester to the pre-final semester mark-sheets + hall-ticket as proof of appearing for the final semester/final year exams (all certificates to be brought in original with one photocopy of each, if coming in person to submit the form. Out-station candidates should send copies of the required certificates attested by a government gazetted officer or the principal of a school/college or a bank manager or a special executive magistrate). 3. Three recent passport-size photographs, taken on or after March 1, 2011. 4. Exam fee of Rs. 400/, in cash, or by a crossed demand draft in favour of C-DAC, Mumbai, payable at Mumbai. The exam fee once paid is non-refundable/non-adjustable against any other event. 5. Written requests for hostel accommodation (if the admission is being sought for FPGDST/FPGDIS-2011 at Kharghar or Bengaluru) should be made separately to the Administrative Officers at Kharghar and Bengaluru respectively. However, this request will be attended to, only after the candidate appears in this test and is selected for the FPGDST/FPGDIS-2011 admission at either of these places, subject to availability of seats in the hostel at that time. 6. Those sending forms by post should send them by registered-post, speed-post or courier to the following address on or before July 1, 2011. FPGDST The Full-Time Post-Graduate Diploma in Advanced Software Technology (FPGDST) is a one-year full-time programme which imparts rigorous training in the complete software development process. The programme will broadly cover the following topics: Programming Fundamentals (PRGF) Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science (MFCS) Systems and Networks (SNET) Application Development using Database Systems and Web Technologies (ADWE) Object Oriented Analysis and Design and Software Engineering, with Soft Skills (SSKL) FPGDIS The Full-Time Post Graduate Diploma in Information Security (FPGDIS) is a six-month, full-time programme broadly covering the following modules: Programming Fundamentals (PRGF) covering procedural programming with C, Object Oriented Programming with Java and Data Structures and Algorithms. Systems and Networks (SNET) covering operating system components and basic networking and network programming concepts. Eligibility Criteria for Joining the Courses through Entrance Test

FPGDST Graduate in any subject from a recognized Board / University OR a Diploma holder in Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education.
FPGDIS (any one of the following qualifications) (i) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science * OR Electrical Science ** OR equivalent (for e.g. AMIE / AMIETE) * Computer Science / IT / Information Science ** Electrical / Electronics / Telecommunication / Instrumentation & Control Systems (ii) Diploma in Computer Science / IT / Computer Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education recognised by any State Govt. of India or the Central Govt. of India. Syllabus for the Entrance test

For joining either the FPGDST or FPGDIS courses, candidates have to appear for the General Aptitude (GA) and Computer Concepts (CC) papers and qualify. Candidates having a first-class degree in the following streams (given below) can walk in for obtaining admission on a first-come-first-served basis, starting from 10:00 a.m. on July 21, 2011 till the seats are available at Kharghar-Navi Mumbai and Electronics City-Bengaluru centres. M.C.A. Candidates who are unable to do so will have their admission suspended until they are able to produce the required proof of qualification. NO REFUND OF COURSE FEES WILL BE MADE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
