I am calling to inform you that my child is sick and will not be in school today. What is your childs name? Anna Wright. How do you spell that? Anna is spelled A-N-N-A, and Wright is spelled W-R-I-G-H-T. Thank you. What grade is Anna in? She is in second grade. And what is her teachers name? Mr. Roberts All right. Thank you for calling. Youre welcome. Goodbye. Okay bye.

Conversation 2: Wrong numbers and right numbers

Conversation 3: Going to the Beach

Well, I was wondering if you would like to come to the beach with me this weekend. Yes, that sounds great! Is it okay if my brother and sister come also? Yeah, thats fine. I was going to ask them if they wanted to come anyway! Oh, okay great. I think we should leave Friday after work. How does 5:00 sound to you? Leaving at 5:00 sounds fine. We should be ready by then. Okay, I will pick you up from your house at 5:00. I think we should take one car to save gas. Yes, I think that is a good idea. I am excited to go to the beach this weekend! So am I! Conversation 4: Telemarketers

The reason Im calling tonight is that we are offering a new special policy that can save you a lot of money. No thank you. Im not interested. Are you sure you do not want to take advantage of this one time offer? Yes, I am sure. All right. Thank you anyway. Goodbye. Goodbye.

(To stop a sales person from calling say Please take me off of your list. By law the person must stop. She/he may explain that it will take three weeks to remove your name from the list, but the conversation will be finished.)

Conversation 5: A Game of Basketball


A: B: A: C: D: A: B: A: C: D: A: B: C: D: Hi guys Hey Sergio, whats up? Oh, not much. Im bored. Hey Sergio, if you are bored you should play a game of basketball with us. We are just about to begin. Yeah, that sounds like a great idea. Well, okay. Ill play, but Im not very good. That doesnt matter. None of us are very good. Besides, we are just playing for some exercise. Okay cool. There are four of us so we should play 2 on 2. Yeah, that seems fair. Let me put my athletic shoes on and I will be ready to go. Okay, we will wait for you. I am glad that we will finally have even teams! This should be fun!
