[How to] install garmin mobile xt (GMXT) on any PDA (PocketPC)

First of all, download Garmin Mobile XT for Windows Mobile software version 5.00.20w Next thing is to run the installation through activesync. After installation, SOFT RESET. After boot up and enter windows. If Prompted to run the software, Select NO. Now go to FILE MANAGER on your PDA, go to storage card you will find FOLDER: 2577, delete Now go to program and find GARMIN XT Apps. Run the Apps.

choose the bottom one (last one, the 4th), use garmin bt devices Getting your UNIT ID :

Select AGREE on the warning bla bla. If there is prompt to search Bluetooth GPS device and ask you to go or stop. just click STOP (no need to search at this moment). On the main screen see bottom and click SETTINGS On the next screen see bottom right and click DOWN ARROW You will see ABOUT click it. You will see: ESN ID or UNIT ID or CARD ID Write all of them in the piece of paper. double check it. dont miss one word.

Click BACK and BACK again. and click EXIT. Activation : Run the Keygen you will see 2 (two) entry field. First entry field called Enter your Unit ID here Now see your notes you wrote previously and enter your ID For PDA using Bluetooth GPS receiver use ESN ID or CARD ID For PDA using Internal Built in GPS (kaiser, D810, artemis) use UNIT ID or CARD ID Enter your ID and hit Generate Button you will get 25 Digit CODE. Select it double click it until highlighted (greyist) click RIGHT MOUSE AND COPY. WARNING! DONT CLOSE THE KEYGEN YET!! if you accidentally close it, start STEP 37 again.

Now go to Windows Explorer/My computer create a folder and open it, inside that folder create .txt file by click RIGHT MOUSE->NEW->TEXT DOCUMENTS it will create NEW TEXT DOCUMENT.TXT (0KB)

10. Open the file and click PASTE, now your 25 code should be printed on the first line.
11. Save it. and close the document.

12. Now rename that file by right click on the file -> Rename 13. Rename it like this: sw.unl make sure the .txt extension change to .unl 14. dont do this: sw.unl.txt (wrong!).
15. Now go to your File Manager at your PDA!!

16. Make sure of this because there is TWO Garmin Folders inside your PDA. the one is at
theinternal memory/Root and the other one at storage card.

17. GO TO STORAGE CARD and find GARMIN FOLDER. put the file sw.unl there. 18. Now go to PDA and start GARMIN XT apps. it should take you to warning screen. and it wont ask
you to activate the software again.

If not working and the Screen still locked, you need to try different ID, maybe your card ID maybe your ESN ID try it see which one is work for you. (WARNING!! DONT ATTEMPT TO GO TO THE NEXT STEP WITHOUT SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING THIS ONE FIRST) if everything OK you should be happy 50% of your problem are gone. *** NOW GO GET SOME BEER*** let me remind you that the KEYGEN Still running.. dont close it yet if you want to unlock maps use the same method with unlock file named gmapsupp.unl containing the unlock code with this using your mapid and device id. Voila there you have it , heres a couple of screenshots :

on which step did you failed ?

wheres the keygen? i didnt find it here. does it work with internal gps? im using samsung i780 with windows mobile 6

It doesnt work with me too, failed to activated. im using kaiser HTC TyTn II, I created the file sw.unl with the 25 code and copy it to

STORAGE CARD and to GARMIN FOLDER. But when starting GARMIN XT apps the Screen still locked. I have tried all codes.
it works fine, maybe you entered the wrong device ID. Or you named the sw.unl.txt ? I little bit confuse abt open garmin apps. Coz when u installed it. It only made 3 folder at my pda. 1 is the 2557 which should be delete, 2nd the garmin folder which contain many folder ( Apps, EULA, Vehicle) and the last one is garmin XT.exe, coz the last folder didnt make any changed when i clik it BTW i use MIO A 700. thanks [Reply]

Successfully installed for HP IPAQ 912 (windows mobile 6.1), it works, many thanks. Application to unlock software please use the keygen here http : // rapidshare.com/ files / 113183619 / garmin.rar (copied links with no space) Just follow the instruction as mentioned as article above, if you try and the first keygen failed, try to generate and have another id. For the indonesian map, follow the instruction as follow: 1. download map from navigasi.net 2. save it in a new folder, extract it to the new folder 3. copy all extract file into garmin folder in memory card , not in phone. 4. restart your pda 5. enjoy it. hi..just FYI, if you already solved the problem..good for u.. if not here it is.If u already found the voice, you need to make a new older in your phone (that is in Garmin folder - not the one in the phone memory - the one that is in your memory card/storage card) name the folder voice wothout the quote..paste your new voice there and you done.. BUT, 1 problem i found is that, you must name you voice file name to English_British.vpm or English_American.vpm without the quote. Then only your GArmin will detect voice option. HI..Thanks for this educative info..finally i can install it on my Omnia..now i got to option to use either Mapking or Garmin..huhuhu.. but ive have to search for an unlocked version for my Garmin Map, because im quite not understand on your instruction NO 23,.(how to unlock map)- and found it already.. BTW is this software included the voice direction, seem not in the option menu?..ive found a link for the voice/audio and paste it it on my garmin folder but still not working. the file is it .vpm format..is it correct? is you phone using a build in GPS?..if yes use the Card ID.. To find yr ID, see STEP 1-8..it clearly said there.. USe the keygen to cracked it..easy.. [Reply]
