Master’s Program on Ethnology and Anthropology
The major aims to cultivate compound talents engaged in teaching, research and other work in
ethnology and related majors, and to provide intellectual resources for cultivating high-quality
and high-level ethnology talents. Master’s degree students should have a systematic mastery
of the basic theories and methods of the major, understand the frontier development of the
discipline, have the ability to independently engage in field work and scientific research, have
expertise in a certain professional field, and have a certain sense of innovation and self-
improvement ability. Be able to read foreign literature skillfully.

II. Educational Philosophy
1. Implementing the requirement that the supervisor is the first person responsible for the
cultivation of postgraduates, and clarify the responsibility of the supervisor of postgraduates
to strengthen moral education and cultivate people. Emphasis should be placed on improving
the ideological and political quality of postgraduates, developing their academic innovation
ability and practical innovation ability, enhancing their awareness of social responsibility,
guiding them to abide by academic ethics and paying attention to their humanistic care.
2. Establishing a steering team with supervisors as the core to give full play to the advantages
of collective steering.
3. After enrollment, postgraduate students should take the initiative to report to their
supervisors at least once a month on the progress of their thoughts, studies and scientific
research, and listen to and accept the guidance of their supervisors or the
steering team. The supervisor is expected to keep an eye on the progress of the
postgraduate students’ studies and researches.

Master’s Program on “Belt and Road” International Communication
This program is to cultivate high-level specialized talents with comprehensive development in
moral, intelligence, and physical education, solid theoretical foundation, systematic
professional knowledge, high professional skills and international visions, who can be engaged
in cross-cultural journalism and communication research and application. Students are
required to comply with the provisions of MUC’s management measures for recruiting and
training international students, abide by laws and regulations, be able to grasp the professional
concept of modern journalism and communication, abide by the professional ethics of
journalism and communication, have skilled business ability and strong theoretical research
ability, and be able to adapt to the technical requirements of the new media era to engage in
related work, master communication theory and communication application skills, cross-

Master’s Program on the History of Relations between China and the “Belt
and Road” Countries
Themed by harmonious cooperation, this major is aimed at recruiting students from the “Belt
and Road” countries, striving to build a continuous and interactive training system, promoting
cultural exchanges through historical education and teaching, and jointly building the “Belt
and Road”. The course is designed to integrate the main teaching experience of special
historical disciplines such as the history of ethnic groups and the history of Chinese ethnic
relations, and to set up two special courses
i.e. the history of ancient Chinese and foreign relations and the history of modern Chinese and
foreign relations, with emphasis on several special courses that reflect the process of
interaction between Chinese and global civilizations and the history of exchanges and
interactions between the Chinese nation and various ethnic groups in the world. These courses
present the splendid material culture and highly developed civilization of ancient China,
outline and sort out the modern Sino-foreign relations from the perspective of the relationship
between China and its neighboring countries and the transformation of China’s foreign
relations, and deepen the cognitive model of China’s historical development from the
perspective of the development history of China’s relations with the world to varying degrees,
aiming to cultivate high-level foreign students who are friendly to China and have the
awareness of tolerance and cultural diversity.
