3. Do you think that the ABM strand contributed to or helped the students prepare
themselves for college? Explain.
Participant 1: Certainly, my time at FEU Manila has shaped my skills in business. The
comprehensive training provided firsthand experience in various aspects of business operations,
fostering a deep understanding of business management.
Participant 2: ABM curriculum provides an understanding of business concepts, principles, and
practices including marketing, accounting, finance, and entrepreneurship. These are directly
applicable to the Hospitality Management course as the industry involves managing businesses
such as hotels, restaurants, and event planning companies.
Participant 3: I think yes because it enhanced our mind about money and also saving money for
the future and it makes college students to be more practical
Participant 4: Yes, ABM help students prepare them build self confidence and self worth when it
comes to presenting their own ideas.
Participant 5: I think yes on how they approach situational problems which deals with critical
thinking and logical reasoning.
Participant 6: The ABM strand can contribute to college preparation by offering a foundation in
business-related subjects and exposure to real-world scenarios through projects.
4. What are the differences when it comes to activities you did when you were an ABM
student compared to now as a college student?
Participant 1: Contrasting my high school experience, where the emphasis was on establishing
and managing businesses, my current focus in college, particularly in my first year, revolves
around the intricacies of managing a business's workforce, aligning with my chosen major.
Participant 2: Starting to plan a business activity, especially when it comes to selling products
has been a big help for me, I use my insights about marketing and insights that help to build
product selling.
Participant 3: The difference between abm and entrepreneurship activity is abm It involves
personalized marketing and sales efforts tailored to the needs and characteristics of individual
target accounts. in activity and entrepreneurship is Entrepreneurs typically identify opportunities,
innovate, and take risks to create and grow a business.
Participant 4: ABM activities focus more on paper works while college tends to me more on
hands on training
Participant 5: I think I are more focused on statistical approach rather than business approach.
Participant 6: As an ABM student,activities were more focused on business simulations,case
studies,and projects within a structured academic environment.In college, there's a greater
emphasis on independent research,practical application of concepts,and a broader range of
subjects.
7. What tips can you give to the ABM students who is also wanting to take business-related
courses?
Participant 1: I advise prioritizing personal best efforts, avoiding unnecessary pressure, and
taking breaks when feeling fatigued to maintain academic performance.
Participant 2: Take time to explore your interests and passion in that industry. Focus on
developing transferable skills that are valued across business principles.
Participant 3: My advice or tip to students who wants to take business course is focuse more on
planning and budgeting and be more practical
Participant 4: A tip I could give to ABM students is to study hard and practice speaking infront
of a crowd because a business related course will focus more on speaking infront of people about
the business/product you offer
Participant 5: I advice as A BSCPE student to be more practical and be logicl when facing real
life situations.
Participant 6: ABM students aiming for business-related courses should focus on developing a
strong foundation in mathematics, economics,and communication skills.Seeking internships or
part-time jobs in relevant industries can provide valuable experience and networking
opportunities.
8. What aspects of the ABM strand do you think has to strengthen in order to successfully
execute college readiness when it comes to:
8.1. Teachers
Participant 1: Integrating college-level content into the curriculum ensures students' familiarity
with the subject matter, better preparing them for higher education.
Participant 2: Incorporating case studies, business plans and hands-on projects into lessons
provides students with valuable insights and prepares them for challenges in college and their
future careers. Offering the students to have experiential learning opportunities, such as
internships, and OJT will enhance students' understanding of business concepts and practices.
Participant 5: the subjects must be related to the course to match the demands of the
opportunities in the future.
Participant 6: The curriculum should incorporate more hands-on learning experiences,industry-
relevant projects,and opportunities for students to develop soft skills such as
teamwork,communication, and problem-solving.integrating emerging topics like digital
marketing,data analytics, and sustainability into the curriculum can enhance students' readiness
for college and the workforce.
