Question 1
The figure below shows employee names, their salaries and the respective departments they
work for an increment is to be effected.

N.B Increment is 12% of the Salary and Tax is 2% of the Salary.


a. Convert the table headings text direction so that they appear in a columnar way at
90 degrees. [5]
b. Use your own created formula to calculate the Increment and Tax for all the
people in the table. [10]
c. Calculate the values for the Total, Average and Highest using predefined functions
in excel for salary, increment, tax and net salary. [10]
d. Use a suitable formula to calculate the count for all the workers. [10]
e. Sort the values in the table in ascending order of salary. [5]
f. Add a Column after the last one and name it “Employee Grade” then using a
nested IF function calculate the grade for each employee as in guided in the
grading key above (e.g. if SALARY>=1400 it is a “1” etc.). [20]
g. Create a column graph showing the salary for each employee. The graph must
have name on the x-axis and salary on the y-axis. [10]
Question 2
Design a PowerPoint presentation for an organisation of your choice. It must be fully
functional. Marks awarded for completeness, outlook and theme. It should market your
organisation to prospective clients. From your PowerPoint there should be a hyperlink that
links it to your excel workbook for question 1, save them in one folder. [30]
