CERTIFICATE COURSE ON INTERNET OF THINGS

1. Eligibility criteria:

Those students who possess higher secondary educational qualification are eligible for getting
join to this course.

2. The Scheme of Examination:

The course has duration of 30 hours. The evaluation scheme for this course consisting of two parts:
(a) Internal Evaluation in the manner of continuous assessment and the second one is (b) External
Evaluation carried by the end of course in a examination manner.

In the direct grading system of an evaluation, 100% is considering the internal and external
examination in a theoretical oriented method.

Internal and External Evaluation:

The Internal Examination is evaluated based on the continuous assessment by using the
following split-ups with different methods as follows;

Grading System:
In order to ensure the outcome of students enrolled in certificate programmes; the grading system
is designed to incorporate both internal as well as the external evaluation together. The grading
scale is as follows,

Letter in Grade Mark Range

A 85-100

B 70-84

C 50-69

The specification for grading scale fixation is to enhancing student's ability in addition to their
academic courses. For this purpose, this scale of evaluation does not include any fail criteria. The
meaning of letter grade is;

A-Good,

B- Fair and

C- Average.

SUMMARY REPORT FOR THE CERTIFICATE COURSES

IN CERTIFICATE COURSE ON INTERNET OF THINGS

(IOT)

The Certification Course conducted by the institution along with regular curriculum helps an
individual to showcase his competency, commitment for the profession, build expertise in his
professional subject area, and helps with job advancement. It is a designation earned by a person
giving a kind of assurance to the company or any other institution of his competencies of
performing a job.

To study and complete a certificate is most of the time will be a requirement for job. In most of
the occurrences the certificate course will provides a valuable input regarding get an idea about
advancement in the institution and industrial oriented aspects. After make sure that what
certification course helps to improve the employment opportunities then only designed in order
to meet its requirement. Certificates can also boost your employment opportunities. They can
make you stand out above someone with fewer or no qualifications. They also show employers
you are interested in and committed to their industry.

For many students, obtaining a degree may not be enough, as the job market demands certain
skills and knowledge that are beyond the degree course. These students look for certificate
courses that enhance his/her knowledge and skills in a specific domain. At the same time,
certificate courses in India open doors to more employment opportunities.

The Department of Computer Science Department initiated the certificate courses for different
duration in different recent trends in the relevant courses. Among this, one of the certificate
programmes is " INTERNET OF THINGS (IOT)". It's having a course duration is designed 30 -
hours duration during the academic year 2021-2022 in addition of the semester programme.

COURSE OUTCOME

Students gained ability to understand the application areas of IOT and to understand building
blocks of Internet of Things and characteristics.
We admitted 20 students from B.SC Computer Science, in the current academic year. Out of 20
students, all are successfully completed this certificate course in the stipulated time period.

Out of 20 students, 11 students are scored "A" grade and 3 students are secured "B" grade 6
students are secured "C" grade. The course was started from December to May. The course was
coordinated by Mr. V. Suresh Kumar Assistant Professor of Computer Science in our
Department. The students were awarded certificate after their successful completion of the
course as per the norms.
