OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH

This Act emphasizes on the concept of Self-Regulation which is:

“The responsibilities of ensuring safety and health at workplace lies with


those who create the risks and those who work with the risk”.

• This concept was suggested by a committee which was chaired by


Lord Robens in the year1972.

• Self-Regulation concept was made as the 514 Act philosophy.
