Workshop Safety Audit Report

The workshop safety audit identifies critical safety issues including lack of PPE, missing First Aid kits, damaged flooring, poor housekeeping, and absence of fire safety equipment. A risk assessment categorizes these issues as high to moderate risks, emphasizing the potential for serious injuries. The improvement plan recommends immediate provision of PPE, installation of a First Aid kit, repairs to flooring, regular housekeeping, and installation of fire safety equipment with training for users.

Workshop Safety Audit and

Improvement Proposal
Objective
The purpose of this safety audit is to evaluate the current safety practices in the workshop
and propose improvements to minimize risks and hazards. This includes identifying
common safety issues, assessing their risks, and offering practical solutions.

Observations
The following observations were made during the safety audit of the workshop:

 - Lack of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and helmets.
 - No accessible or visible First Aid kit in the workshop.
 - Broken and uneven flooring which poses a tripping hazard.
 - Poor housekeeping – tools and materials scattered around.
 - No visible fire extinguishers or emergency exit signage.

Risk Assessment
Each of the observed safety issues has been assessed for potential danger:

 - PPE Absence: High risk of injury due to exposure to sharp tools, flying debris, or
hazardous substances.
 - Missing First Aid Kit: High risk in case of accidents or injuries with no immediate
treatment available.
 - Damaged Flooring: Moderate to high risk of trips and falls, which can lead to serious
injuries.
 - Poor Housekeeping: Medium risk of accidents due to clutter, such as tripping or
improper tool use.
 - Lack of Fire Safety Equipment: High risk in case of fire; lack of equipment can lead to
severe damage or injuries.

Improvement Plan
Based on the risks identified, the following recommendations are proposed:

 - Immediately provide basic PPE for all workshop users and enforce usage rules.
 - Install a fully-stocked First Aid kit in an accessible, marked location.
 - Repair or replace damaged sections of the floor to ensure safety.
 - Implement a regular housekeeping routine for tool and material organization.
 - Install fire extinguishers and emergency exit signs, and ensure everyone is trained in
basic fire safety.

Visual Support
Images or sketches should be added here to illustrate the observed issues (e.g., photo of
broken floor, missing PPE area, etc.). Annotated diagrams help support the report visually.
