Summer Internship Project

1. General Instructions:
a. The students will have to undergo Summer Internship for six weeks after the completion
of the Second Semester and submit a “Summer Internship Project Report” by the end of
training.
b. The students must carry their SIP training at the organization and submit the certificate
at end of the training in the prescribed format which is to be attached in the report.
c. Students must report to their allocated guide for regular updates and review of the work
done.
d. The summer internship project will be allowed on an individual basis only.
e. The internal evaluation of the Summer Internship will be done by your respective guide
based on your regularity in timely submission of the work.
f. External evaluation will be based on viva. Absenteeism in the viva may lead to failure in
the Summer Internship Project.

2. Introduction:
Summer Internship Project at the end of Second Semester each student shall undertake a
Summer Internship Project (SIP) for 6 weeks. Summer Internship Project (SIP) is an essential
part of the academic curriculum of Online MBA. Students are required to work with an
organization for hands on experience during the semester gap of Semester II and semester III.
The students may carry their SIP training at the organization located within the geographical
boundary of Gujarat/India/Foreign Country.

The SIP may or may not have a Functional Focus, i.e. the student may take up a SIP in his/her
intended area of specialization or in any other functional area of management. Ideally the SIP
may exhibit a cross functional orientation as well. The student shall submit a structured report
based on work done during this period on the basis of suggested guidelines including research
methodology after the completion of the second semester and submit a “Summer Internship
Project” report by end of the training. SIP may be a research project – based on primary/
secondary data or may be an operational assignment involving working by the student on a
given task/assignment/project/ etc. in an organization / industry. It is expected that the SIP shall
sensitize the students to the demands of the workplace.
3. Learning Objective
 Observe and participate in business operations and decision-making.
 Apply business concepts and theories to real-world decision-making.
 Increase proficiency in specific business disciplines; such as human resources
management, operations management, marketing, accounting, statistics, economics,
finance, and business law etc.
 Develop and improve business skills in communication, technology, quantitative
reasoning and data analytics.
 Meet professional role models and potential mentors who can provide guidance,
feedback, and support.
 Expand network of professional relationships and contacts.
 Develop a solid work ethic, team behaviour and professional demeanor, as well as a
commitment to ethical conduct and social responsibility.
