Coding Challenge: NLP Application

Using Block Coding


For Grade 8

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. Eligibility:

 Only registered Grade 8 students are eligible to participate.


 Students can participate in teams of maximum 2 members of each house.

2. Objective:

Develop a small Natural Language Processing (NLP) application using block


coding that showcases basic NLP functionalities.

3. Project Requirements:

 The project must be created using Scratch/Pictoblox software.


 Application should have clear functionality related to NLP concepts.
 Creativity, user interaction, and practical utility will be valued.

4. Time Frame:

 Each house team will have a maximum of 1 hour to present their project and
explain the working.

5. Allowed Resources:

 Only software and offline resources.


 Internet access will be provided during coding but plagiarism and copying
others’ work will lead to immediate disqualification.
 Participants can use pre-built extensions in Scratch/Pictoblox relevant to NLP.

6. Conduct:
 Participants must maintain discipline and follow instructions by the event
coordinators.
 Use of mobile phones or other unauthorized gadgets during the event is
prohibited unless permitted for coding.

7. Submission:

 Project files must be submitted on USB or uploaded as per instructions before


the end of the event.

8. Disqualification:

 Any form of malpractice or disruptive behaviour will result in immediate


disqualification.

We encourage all participants to demonstrate creativity, logical thinking, and technical


skills through this coding challenge. Best of luck!
