Problem Interview Script

1. Welcome
Thanks for taking the time to chat with us. We're from RUET and we're growing a startup, a DIY
kit company designed to make an interactive and learning experience for children. We have
developed a model for more interacting and specific kit ideas. We'd love to learn more about
your experiences with DIY projects—what excites you, what frustrates you and how we can
make it better. There are no right or wrong answers, just your honest thoughts.

2. Collect Demographics
Before we dive in, I'd love to get a little background on you to better understand your
perspective.

1. What's your profession?


2. Which school does your child attend?
3. How your child spend their leisure time?
4. Have you ever bought any DIY kit before? If you have bought how was the experience?
5. Have your children ever faced the problem of over screening and not having interest in
study?

3. Tell a story
1. Can you tell me about a time when you tried to prevent your children from over screening
and losing interest in their studies?
2. Can you share how did you approach to handle that situation?

4. Problem Ranking (4 minutes)


For Parents/Teachers (Buying Decisions): "On a scale of 1-5, how important are these factors
when buying educational kits:"

 Cost of educational materials


 Educational value and alignment with learning goals
 Safety of materials
 Ease of supervision
 Storage and reusability
 Time required to help children with activities

For Children (Usage Experience): "Tell me about:"


 What subjects interest you most
 What makes activities fun or boring
 How long you usually spend on projects
 Whether you prefer working alone or with friends
 What frustrates you during activities

To Parents/Teachers:

 "What's your typical budget for learning activities?"
 "What makes you trust an educational product?"
 "How do you judge if a kit is worth buying?"
 "What would make you purchase multiple kits?"

User Experience (5 minutes)

To Children:

 "What's your favorite type of project?"


 "What makes you want to finish a project?"
 "Do you like following instructions or creating your own way?"
 "What tools or materials do you enjoy using most?"
 "What makes you want to do more projects?"

Product Category Exploration (5 minutes)

For Arts and Crafts:

 Parent/Teacher: "What would convince you to buy an art kit?"


 Child: "What would you like to create?"

For Science Kits:

 Parent/Teacher: "What science topics should the kit cover?"


 Child: "What experiments look most exciting?"

For Medical Science Kits:

 Parent/Teacher: "What health concepts should children learn?"


 Child: "What would you like to discover about the human body?"
6. Wrapping Up (2 minutes)
To Parent/Teacher:

 "What price range would you consider reasonable?"


 "How often would you purchase new kits?"
 "What would make you recommend these kits to others?"

To Child:

 "Which type of kit would you want first?"


 "Would you like to help test our kits?"

We are here to solve your concern and solve it fruitfully. Our DIY kits will engage them in
learning through science related activities and interacting. We will make them more enthuse
about study, science and interacting activities. This will keep them safe from over screening
as well. Nowadays they are lacking in proper guideline and facilities to become ready for
future world of technology. We are here to assist you to build up a better carrier of your
children.
