a) In what situations do you think gathering data from primary data sources is most
applicable to this situation and why? How will you gather this data? [3]

3. Data mining and data exploration tools serve a very important purpose in data quality and
data cleaning. What problems do these tools assist in? [2]

4. What is a data retention policy and why is it necessary for an organisation to have it? Give 3

5. Why is it necessary to protect data in a database? [2]

6. A bank is a common example of a business that keeps a lot of private and confidential data.
The bank data should be secured to achieve privacy, integrity and availability. What impact
