A Study On Seismic Wave
CHAPTER 2
REVIEW OF LITRETURE
2.1 Introduction
Most of today s producing naturally fractured reservoirs were discovered accidentally, they were
found by somebody who are looking for some other type of reservoir. Significant volume of
hydrocarbon resides in these reservoirs. But these are abandoned particularly in fields because
improper testing and evolution or because the wells did not intersect the natural fractures (Aguilera,
1998). Attempts have been made to quantify properties of such reservoir (Chaki et al., 2014). It has
been long recognized that the presence of naturally occurring fracture network can lead to
unpredictable heterogeneity and anisotropy within many reservoirs. In past geophysicists acquired
and processed P wave reflection data at short offset, which automatically implied relatively small
angular ray coverage. So seismic anisotropy, which is defined as directional dependence of elastic
properties of earth remains unnoticed. But with the advance of methodologies, acquiring long offset
and multi component data become feasible and cost effective, anisotropy showed up. Seismic wave
propagation in heterogeneous medium is discussed by Chabak et al., 2012. On a smaller scale,
stresses in the Earth can cause rock to fracture in a consistent manner. If these fractures are aligned,
the rock will be anisotropic with the fast direction parallel to the fractures and the slow direction
perpendicular to them. In ideal cases, these observations can provide
How Did Margaret Bourke-White Affect Women In The Early...
Margaret Bourke White; The Eyes of the 1900s Fittingly for the heroic, larger than life Margaret
Bourke White the eyes were the last to go. Sean Callahan Throughout her life, Margaret Bourke
White traveled around the world taking photographs and expanding the idea of photojournalism.
She became the first female war correspondent along with a famous documenter of Gandhi s non
violent protest. Her move to Cleveland, Ohio, her photographic representation of WWII and the
Korean Conflict, and her diagnosis of Parkinson s disease all helped to develop the theme that
Margaret Bourke White broke gender barriers for women in the early 1900s, and led the world on a

and Germany. On her trip to the South, the famed author Erskine Caldwell joined Margaret Bourke
White. Their association resulted in the book, You Have Seen Their Faces , and, as Phillips, the
curator of The Phillips Collection in Washington D.C., says, The haggard images staring back at the
camera confirmed her increasing understanding of the human condition, she became skilled at
capturing the human experience. By this Phillips means that this experience with Caldwell showed
Margaret Bourke White a new perspective of the human relationship, taught her to capture an
intricate web of emotion in just one photograph, and influenced her later works. Not long after
this, the Second World War began, giving Bourke White a rare opportunity to showcase both her
bravery and her skill. As the first woman credited as a war correspondent, she crossed into Germany
with an Air Force crew on a bombing raid. Throughout the rest of the war, Bourke White continued
traveling with the armed forces through North Africa and Italy, and to the staff of Life magazine she
became known as Maggie The
Plavix Research Paper
Plavix (Clopidogrel)
The drug that will be discussed in this paper is Plavix. Plavix saves peoples veins and arteries from
clotting, so it saves people s lives every day. The pharmaceutical Drug Plavix is a blood thinner.
Blood thinners are used to prevent heart attacks most commonly. Plavix is a blood thinner, which
means it prevents the formation of blood clots in arteries, or veins. They do not get rid of existing
clots, but they prevent them from getting any bigger. When blood thinners are taken with a drug
called Aspirin, they prevent the platelets, or a type of blood cell, from sticking together and forming
clots. Taking Plavix with Aspirin can also relieve chest pain. Although Plavix can help prevent heart
attacks and blood clots, there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The chemical formula is C16H16ClNO2SH2SO4 and its molecular weight is 419.9. The molar
mass for this drug is 321.82 g/mol. Normally, a person should take 300 mg, unless prescribed
more or less. Even though Plavix is usually taken in 300 mg. dosages, it is sold to many patients
in 75 mg. as well as 300 mg. tablets. The address of the manufacturer of Plavix is Bristol Myers
Squibb/Sanofi Pharmaceuticals Partnership Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Plavix s website is http:/
/www.bms.com/pages/default.aspx. The manufacturers names are Bristol Myers Squibb and
Sanofi Pharmacueticals. If someone is pregnant, there is no known risk if you take this drug. But,
if you drink alcohol and take this drug at the same time, there could be fatal consequences. Lastly,
even though it is called a blood thinner, it does not actually make your blood thinner. It just
prevents clots. In conclusion, Plavix is a drug that is also a blood thinner. It is taken by mouth and
it reacts with platelets. By reacting with these platelets, it prevents clots. But, there are some side
effects, some of which could be fatal. And lastly, you can buy this drug from Bristol Myers Squibb
and Sanofi Pharmacueticals. That is why Plavix saves people s lives every
The Notion Of Arete In Disney s Hercules
The movie chosen is Disney s Hercules. It starts with Hercules birth in Olympus, however, Hades
quickly kidnaps him. On Earth, Hercules escapes and is raised as a normal Greek child Zeus
reveals to Hercules that he is his true father and for Hercules to return to Olympus as a god,
Hercules must prove himself as a great hero. Hercules sets off to do so while Hades constantly
tries to have him killed. In the final act, Hercules thwarts Hades plot to conquer Olympus, but
Hercules love interest Meg has died. Hercules agrees to sacrifice himself, so Meg can live again.
This act deems him worthy in Zeuss eyes and Hercules godhood is restored. Hercules declines
immortality so he can stay on Earth with Meg.
The movie is based on the Classical myth the Twelve Labors. In the Classical myth, Heracles is
driven psychotic by Hera, because of this Heracles murders his wife Megara and their children. The
Oracle of Delphi tells Heracles that to atone for his crime he must serve King Eurystheus for ... Show

In both versions of the myth, heroes are people who have achieved arete (excellence). However,
the Greeks version of arete is distinct from Disney s present day version of arete. The classical
version of Heracles achieves arete after completing his twelve labours. In the Disney version as
Zeus eloquently puts it at the end of the movie A true hero isn t measured by his strength, but by
his heart . Disney has changed the measurement of arete to be measured by a person s character,
not their raw strength. In Classical myth, measurement of arete is focused on feats completed,
morality is less important. Since Disney s movie is made for a younger audience, Disney took the
opportunity to impart a moral lesson on the audience. People will judge you on the nature of who
you are. Any feats you may complete will be veiled by poor morality. Selflessness is the
measurement of heroes in modern
William Brewster Research Paper
William Brewster and Separatist Pilgrims Immigration to America Elder William Brewster, of
the Mayflower, was appointed ruling elder of the Pilgrims in Holland. He was a man of erudition
and acted in the capacity of elder till 1629 (Savery 168). In a genealogy book written by my
paternal great grandmother, Henrietta Savery and through my interview with my paternal
grandmother (Joyce Bradley), I learned that my ancestor, William Brewster immigrated to America
on the Mayflower. Elder William Brewster was a great leader and the only person who had
attended a university on the Mayflower (Gragg 64). He led the Separatists from Leiden, Holland
along with William Bradford. My ancestors immigration mirrored the other arrivals of English
Separatist settlers who left because... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The English were most bothered by the general Dutch attitude toward morality and especially its
potential impact on their children (Gragg 87 88). The culture of the Dutch contrasted with that of
the English because the Dutch men drank more frequently, and the women were seen as bold
(Gragg 89). Pilgrims on the Mayflower originally planned to remain in Holland, but chose to go
to America because of Holland s low paying jobs, different lifestyle, and the growing religious
tensions in Holland (Gragg 97 98). A plan was made to leave Holland in 1617 by selected church
leaders, including Brewster (Gragg 99 102). In order to leave the Netherlands, the Pilgrims needed
money. Brewster received financing from some London merchants to establish a colony in Virginia
(Gragg 102). The Pilgrims left the Netherlands in July of 1620 and sailed back to England on the
Speedwell because the Mayflower was in England (Gragg 117). On September 6, 1620, a group of
Separatists left Plymouth, England on the Mayflower (Gragg 144).
Introduction. Evidence Based Practise Is...
INTRODUCTION Evidence based practise is the integration of clinical expertise, patient
preferences and the best research into the decision making process for patient care (Porter O
Grady, 2010). (Sakett) The Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC). code of conduct implores nurses
and midwives alike, to practice in line with the best available evidence, to ensure clinical treatment
is administered based on up to date knowledge and are consistent with tried and tested methods.
This is to ensure patient safety as well as the practitioners. (NMC, 2015). In this essay, I will

The need for EBP is in order to improve service procedures and provide reliable evidence to
inform health practitioners and inform clinical decision making EBP promotes the application of
research evidence as a basis on which to make health care decisions Evidence based practice (EBP)
is to demonstrate the best practice, which has been supported, with a valid and clear rationale to
support it. Whilst using (EBP), this also acknowledges the patient/clients best interest. (EBP) is the
conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care
of individual patient/clients (Sackett et al, 1996). In this definition Sackett facilitates an
understanding between (EBP) and decisions we make in everyday practice. This demonstrates the
strong connection between both aspects. Here, Sackett emphasises the importance of decisions we
make as healthcare professionals, and how clearly they should be stated. This shows that decisions
are well thought out, which demonstrates that the use of evidence is used sensibly and carefully,
which means that any care or support we deliver must be evidence based. It shows that Sackett
understands that if care or support we provide has a rationale, then this enables us to deliver it with
a meaningful purpose. In adherence to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) we as healthcare
Napoleon Bonaparte Visit The Plague-Stricken In Jaffa
Orientalism is a form of art that was most famous during the nineteenth century. This type of art
represents nineteenth century artists stereotypical assumptions describing Middle East culture.
According to Orientalism in Nineteenth Century Art online article by Jennifer Meagher, Some of the
first nineteenth century Orientalist paintings were intended as propaganda in support of French
imperialism, depicting the East as a place of backwardness, lawlessness, or barbarism enlightened
and tamed by French rule. Meagher claims that French leaders wanted to convey and to a certain

According to the online article What is Orientalism by unknown author, Orientalism is a way of
seeing that imagines, emphasizes, exaggerated and distorts differences of Arab (Middle East)
peoples and cultures as compared to that of Europe and the U.S. It often involves seeing Arab
(Middle East) culture as exotic, backward, uncivilized, and at times dangerous. One example of
artwork that portrays the exotic view of the Middle East culture is The Turkish Bath (1863) by Jean
Auguste Dominique Ingres. Although Ingres never visited the East, he used his imagination to
create this painting. In his canvas painting, we see various naked women at a harem enjoying their
bath time. The focal point is a group of six women towards the left side of the painting. Most of the
women are wearing colorful, exotic turbans, and all of them are wearing exotic, luxurious jewelry.
Some of the women are laying down on colorful, vintage designed mats. The women within this
Oriental styled interior are enjoying different types of activities such as talking to each other,
relaxing, bathing and playing musical instruments. Around the harem are visible symbolic Middle
