The Nature of Good and Evil and the Dual Nature of Man s...
Discuss Stevenson s portrayal of the nature of good and evil and the dual nature of man s
personality. Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is a novel about a man named Henry Jekyll who has a split
personality. Dr Jekyll takes a potion to turn himself into his double, Mr Hyde. Dr Jekyll is a caring
person. Mr Hyde is evil. It is when Jekyll s lawyer, Mr Utterson, looks at Dr Jekyll s will that his
suspicions arise. He becomes suspicious because in Dr Jekyll s will everything Dr Jekyll owns is
left to Mr Hyde when Dr Jekyll disappears. Utterson wants to know what the relationship between
Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is, and becomes determined to see Mr Hyde. When a murder takes place,
Utterson has a suspicion that it might have something to do... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Henry Jekyll forge for a murderer! Mr Utterson is shocked at what kind of a person Dr Jekyll has
become, because Mr Utterson thinks Dr Jekyll has forged a letter to protect a murderer. When
people meet or see Mr Hyde they are shocked by his appearance. His appearance is said to be evil:
He is not easy to describe. There is something wrong with his appearance, something downright
detestable, I never saw a man I so disliked, and yet I scarce know why. He must be deformed
somewhere; he gives a strong feeling of deformity, although I couldn t specify the point. He s an
extraordinary looking man, and yet I really can name nothing of the way. The quote conveys that
one can t understand why Hyde is described until he is seen. Dr Jekyll goes pale at the thought of
Mr Hyde: The large handsome face of Dr Jekyll grew pale to the very lips, and there came a
blackness about his eyes, I do not care to hear more. This shows that Dr Jekyll doesn t like to hear
about evil Mr Hyde, which suggests the two are opposites. A blackness about his eyes is
mentioned, the word blackness seems to imply evil. Mr Hyde is described like an animal: And the
next moment, with ape like fury, he was trampling his victim under foot, and hailing down a storm
of blows, under which the bones were audibly shattered and the body jumped on the roadway. This
contrasts to Dr Jekyll s composure. Hyde is
Rate Laws Lab
Reaction order and rate laws are key to understanding the speed in which a reaction occurs and the
necessary amounts of each reactant in a reaction. Reaction order determines the concentration of
each reactant and can be used to calculate the amount of a substance in a reaction. The zeroth,
first, and second orders are the most common and were used in this lab. The order of a reaction
can be found by comparing the quantity of a specific substance and the rate in which the reaction
occurred. Rate laws contribute to the speed of differing reactions. This is a necessary principle in
many fields. For example, it is necessary to know the speed of a reaction that goes on during the
inflation of an airbag. Without knowing the rate law the speed could... Show more content on

HCl concluded to be zeroth order but generally reacted faster than Na2S2O3, which was first
order. The rate law for this reaction is rate=k[Na2S2O3]. Both reactions, when graphed, showed a
straight line though. The average reaction time with HCl was 44 sec (well #1), 53.1 sec (well #2),
and 61.2 sec (well #3). Resulting in a reaction rate of 0.012 sec 1 (well #1), 0.019 sec 1 (well #2),
and 0.16 sec 1 (well #3). While the average reaction time for Na2S2O3 was 33.4 sec (well #4), 81.48
sec (well #5), and 121.22 sec (well #6). Causing the reaction rate to be 0.03 sec 1 (well #4), 0.012

Research Paper On Robert Oppenheimer
Tomiko Morimoto once stated, Everything started falling down; all the buildings started flying
around all over the place. I thought the Americans were going to burn us to death. And we kept
running.... ( Hiroshima Survivor Recalls ). Robert Oppenheimer, also known as father of the atomic
bomb , was liable as the director of the Los Alamos Laboratory during the time of the Manhattan
Project. In the midst of World War II, the United States dropped nuclear bombs on the Japanese
cities, Hiroshima and Nagasaki. After the uncontrollable death rate of three percent of the world
s population in 1940, World War II came to a halt with the surrender of the Axis Powers in 1945.
The Atomic Bomb succeeded in marking the end of World War II. Born in New York City during
1904, the late Robert Oppenheimer, was the son of Julius S. Oppenheimer and Ella Friedman.
Even though Oppenheimer was born of Jewish descent, he joined with a flock of émigrés seeking
freedom within religion. As Oppenheimer progressed in his childhood years, he and his family of
four, lived in a deluxe apartment, enjoying life. When Oppenheimer was enrolled in the second
grade, his parents sent him to a well known school in New York primarily for Ethical Culture; he
continued his study there throughout his last years of grade school. Oppenheimer was credited by
most as a smart student receiving excellent grades in all subjects, however, his social skills were
lacking. In 1925, Oppenheimer started his atomic
God Save Gertrude Play Analysis
God Save Gertrude was a downcast play that had a lot of spunk to it. The play covered the story
of an old punk rocker that is now the first lady. As her kingdom is crashing down, she makes one
last appearance as a rock star. Gertrude talks about her past through the play and talks about how
different things used to be and how everything was very carefree for her. Then her husband became
and drug addict and she remarried to a very powerful man and her son did not approve of the
marriageand it caused a lot of problems for them. I was a little confused while watching the play,
as it had themes throughout that were very hard to keep up with. I personally feel the play was
very descriptive, but sometimes I would get lost in what was happening. I, however, do think they
did a good job with trying to give people the backup story about the meaning of the play. It was
just personally for me I would get lost on the war and why she was hiding from her kingdom. I
understand she was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I also think it was very much a tragedy too because she was so lonely and falling into this deep
depression from everything going on in her life and how unhappy she was. Even the sets were
torn and showing the brokenness in her kingdom and her life. They also used things like pieces
of the ceiling falling off to show the troops. I think they had a very good set with all the props and
the music it all really made the play come alive. The play also showed how draining it was for her
to be queen and how she lost her self in it. This is shown when she is beating against her husband
and refuses to go back with him and talk to the presses. She had all the life sucked out of her from
faking so much in her life.
Overall, I feel the play was well written and the characters were very good with getting the point
across most of the time. I would go see the play again just maybe get more of a backstory on what
was going on during that

The Development of New Ethnic Identities such as Black...
The Development of New Ethnic Identities such as Black British or British/Asian When referring to
British Asians, the majority of us often fall into the trap of understanding the Asians referred to are
linked to the Indian Subcontinent, i.e. India, Pakistan etc. What we tend to forget is that Asians are
associated with a number of different countries and with Asia being the largest continent in the
world, what exactly is meant by the term British Asians? Generally, here in Britain, they are
perceived to be the brown kind and are often associated with the Indian subcontinent. This may seem
like a genuine error, but colloquially speaking we have come to accept this fact and refer to it
commonly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those that the criticising Asians believe have been prompted by western society and essentially
the white man . And whichever Asian that may follow in the footsteps of such traditions and
ideologies is known as a coconut , brown on the outside, white on the inside. It appears that
British Asians have adopted the culture of the host country and have assimilated into this society
quite clearly. This can be argued to be a intentional by some members of the Asian community
and others may well suggest it is an unintended consequence of living and growing up in Britain.
Such a term has gradually eroded and faded from the minds of the people that used it commonly.
It seems that nowadays a new type of culture has emerged and that British Asians a have now
integrated into British Society and are now more or less at home and come to terms with who
they are and what they believe. But to what extent is this true? Are Asians still the reserved people
they once were or are they breaking free from the confines that they themselves had created and
developed keeping morale s preserved just as they have been on the other side of the world? But
how far can one go in actually accepting the fact that the majority of Asians have adopted and
amalgamated into the western society to a
Solemn Soot and Social Despair In the Transformative World...
Solemn Soot and Social Despair
In the Transformative World of William Blake England was changing. The rolling green shires and
inspiring scenery that was fixed in the earliest memories of the Romantic poets was quickly
vanishing. There was a trade off happening. Rivets for rocks, chimney stacks for trees, locomotives
for carriages and steal tracks for cobblestone. Piece by piece England s quaint agricultural backdrop
was being replaced by a stern industrial one. Progress! Some shouted. The greater good! Others
exclaimed. Expansion was becoming virtuous. In droves they came from the country to work in
London s factories. The machines ruled the fields now. Farmers turned their plows in for hammers
and the way peopled lived was never going to be the same.
A new social class was developing in England. It was the working class. And although a wider
segment of the population was producing, creating steam for the Empire, certain leading minds of
the time had to examine the under belly of this fiery beast. In William Blake s poems The Chimney
Sweeper and London he does just that. Through this examination Blake dwells on the theme of the
loss of innocence. He writes these two works in a straight forward tone, almost like a social
awareness pamphlet, urging the reader to wake up. And in typical Romantic fashion he does this
through stark imagery. What impression would a first time reader have after digesting these pieces
when first published? Depending on their class
Book Of Gabriel Research Paper
Gabriel

Gabriel is an angel who serves as a messenger for God to certain people. He is one of the three
archangels. Gabriel is mentioned in both the Old and the New Testaments of the Bible. First, in
the Old Testament, Gabriel appears to the prophet Daniel to explain his visions. Gabriel is
described as, one who looked like man, as he interprets Daniel s visions. He speaks to Daniel while
he is sleeping. After Gabriel s first visit, Daniel becomes tired and sick for days. Gabriel later visits
Daniel again providing him with more insight and understanding in an answered prayer.
In the New Testament, Gabriel, described as an angel of the Lord, first appears to Zacharias, the
father of John the Baptist. He tells him, Fear not, Zacharias: ... Show more content on

The Book of Luke states he was sent from God to Nazareth to visit the virgin married to a man
named Joseph. Gabriel said to Mary, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee:
blessed art thou among women. Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. Gabriel told
Mary she would conceive from The Holy Spirit and the baby will be the Son of God.
After the Annunciation of Mary, Gabriel is not spoken of again.
Gabriel s attributes are the Archangel, he is clothed in blue or white, and is seen carrying a lily, a
trumpet, a shining lantern, a branch from Paradise, a scroll or a scepter. In art, Gabriel is most
commonly represented in the scene of the Annunciation. In art, Gabriel is often represented in the
scene of the Annunciation.
He is occasionally cited as the one who blows God s trumpet to indicate the Lord s return to Earth.
However, the person designated with this task varies; different passages cite different people. The
earliest known identification of Gabriel as the trumpet holder comes in 1455 represented in
Byzantine art.
Gabriel is recognized as the patron saint of messengers, telecommunication workers, and postal
workers. His feast day is celebrated on September 29, along with St. Michael and St.
Jfk s Connections To The Mafia
The Kennedy family had many connections to the mafia. Giancana explained the laughter from his
testimony afterward. He said, Sitting there, I couldn t help but laugh...I was thinking about a night
with his brother at the Cal Neva. It was all so funny...I couldn t help it. What a bunch of fucking
hypocrites. Giancana was alleging that JFK slept with Marilyn Monroe at the Cal Neva Lodge in
Tahoe, NV, a mob infested nightclub owned by Frank Sinatra. JFK s presidential campaign in 1960
benefitted from the help of the mafia. It s well documented that Sam Giancana funneled massive
campaign contributions to JFK along with gathering the vote of the unions. Giancana also claimed
to have bribed many law enforcement and local officials to help JFK win
Confucian Influence
Confucian have a great influence in East Asia especially in China. Confucian is proposed by a
famous philosopher and Saint Confucius in thousands years ago. Confucian becomes a
philosophy, religion and even a way of lifestyle among people in East Asia. If we were to
characterize in one word the Chinese way of life for the last two thousand years, the word could
be Confucian . (Yao 1) Confucian s six concepts including ren, virtue, family, harmony, knowledge,
action, and ontologies deeply affects people s thoughts and life in East Asia. In professor s lesson,
he believed that people in the society have their obligation and should respect each other. For
example, the governor should treat their people well and people have responsibility to their
governer. In families, parents have responsibility to raise their offspring and children can self
cultivate in return. It means people can help, return, and respect each other. If people can finish their
obligation, the concepts of Confucian can be achieved. According to the lecture of professor
Mangagna, Ren is considered as humanness, compassion and benevolence. Ren is not absence of self
interest. It is a form of self interested Along with Confucius, Mengzi emphasized the virtue of
humaneness (ren) which he equated with humanity: Humaneness is what a human is People can
get ren from relationships between each other. (Yao 74) In the book an Introduction to
Confucian, the virtues of humaneness (ren), righteousness (yi), propriety (li) and wisdom (zhi)
were not drilled into us from without; we already had their beginnings (duan) as soon as we were
born. (75) It means Ren is innate. People are inherent with sense of Ren so people don t have to
learn it. Via developing Ren, people can show more care and love to other people. Therefore, the
target of becoming altruistic can be gained. Ren is very important to gain because it can help build
up people s relationship. Ren is omnipresent in relation of families, friends, relatives, classmates
and all the world. In the Confucian society, people are supposed to be altruistic, humane to other
people. If there is no Ren in the world, the world will become horrible. People lose faith on each
Open-Season-On-Pregnancy-Women Syndrome Analysis
Open season on pregnant women

Being pregnant for the first time has made me aware of a phenomenon that I am convinced only a
pregnant woman can truly understand. I call it the open season on pregnant women syndrome, for
lack of a better name. Early in my pregnancy, my older sister warned me that having a baby is not
the private affair I had always assumed it would be. Despite millions of years of babies, the idea of
a new life is still fascinating enough to make even strangers want to share in the excitement and
responsibility. To put it simply, the pregnant woman, and her fetus, are public domain.

The most obvious manifestation of the syndrome is old fashioned nosiness, but to be polite I will
call it curiosity. It can start before the
Black Adam Dictator
Black Adam, conqueror and dictator; countless people have both feared and respected the might of
this self proclaimed god. All apart from Conner. Years ago, he was afraid of the ruthlessness of
Adam and the severe power disadvantage that Superboy had to overcome. Since then, he has had
time to think about the ideology and drive behind Adam s endless life. What drove the once moral
ruler into a dictator, set on controlling the globe and mild it in his image? Would he turn out like Teth
Adam at some point in the future, corrupted? It brings vivid meaning to the human phrase absolute

Both Dick Grayson and Bruce Wayne saw to the unity of the organisation and made the
unquestionably tough choices that no other would dream of making. Their moral code was simple:
do whatever is necessary to protect those that they swore to defend. As Superman Prime, he has to
do all of that on a much larger scale. Is he going to break under the pressure, or is he going to
remain headstrong; questions that only patience and himself can answer. For the moment, a swift
end to Adam s emergence is necessary.

The board is ready; the game is already in motion with the exact same rules that were played over
twenty years ago. Adam needs to go from the Earth, but in what condition. Realistically, Adam
needs to remain alive in the event that he needs to be destroyed when gone rogue. In that scenario,
the world needs every able bodied super powered beings to give them even the slightest of chances.
