Susan Glaspell s Trifles And A Jury Of Her Peers
The play, Trifles, is about Mrs. Wright s murder, while Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters figure out the
reasoning and who committed the crime. The short story, A Jury of Her Peers is the same story but
retold in a different fashion. This change in storytelling creates changes to the story by using
thoughts and narration more often than only using conversation and action. The changes between
Susan Glaspells Triflesand A Jury of Her Peers are shown by the changes in the opening, the
characterization, and the descriptions of the stories.
To begin, the opening of the short story differs a lot from the play. The location in the opening is
different between the play and the short story. In Trifles, the scene is set in the now abandoned

The house had a few minor details that were different between the play and the short story. The
play describes the house as being a lonely place. There are descriptions of the items in the kitchen
and the display of things that are left out. The short story gives some more details to describe the
house. The house has more descriptions of how it is lonely. There is more emphasis on it being at
the end of a lonely road with lonesome trees in the yard. The actions and thoughts are portrayed
differently between the short story and the play. In Trifles, actions are used commonly, because
speech and actions are the only ways to portray something. Thoughts are only able to be shown
through a character s dialogue or actions. Which goes into the descriptions given while trying to
hide the canary. The actions are quick and are used to show how Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters are
thinking. The actions and thoughts are represented differently throughout A Jury of Her Peers .
There are many details throughout the story that would be difficult to portray in actions, therefore
these thoughts are unique to the short story. Using thoughts in the story allows Mrs. Hale and Mrs.
Peters emotions to be show more while they are discussing what they find and while attempting to

A Reflection On The Classroom Demonstration Of The Group...
Introduction
This paper is a reflection on the classroom demonstration of the group work skills to be an
effective group leader and group facilitator. The group was a first time meeting for adult
bereavement members. As one of the group facilitators, this writer introduced himself and stated
welcome, as we are all strangers now, hopefully we will become connected before the group
session ends . The writer also explained that everybody was there for bereavement and if during the
discussion someone was to begin to feel emotional from their grief and or their loss, to please allow
that person to experience their emotions fully.
There is a role that some group members play, rescuer and according to Lamia (2009) the white
knight syndrome happen when someone rescues others and may move from one person to another
rescuing them like a white knight would rescue a damsel in distress. The writer explained that we
are humans and as compassionate beings, it is natural to want to console someone who is noticeably
feeling emotional. However, it would be better to allow the person to experience their grief without
being consoled, and not console them right at that moment. If the person were to be consoled that is
called rescuing, and it deprives the person of fully experiencing their emotions in that moment. When
the rescue happens, they stop their cognitive processing of the emotional experience. This leaves that
person with an unresolved emotional issue, and may remain visibly
Analyzing Jib Fowles Pop Song Ice
Humans will get depressed sometime in their lifetime, what matters is not how far and deep the
depression gets but will the person allow themselves to stay depressed. The pop song Ice released
in 2009 by Lights, is about how Lights fight with her other side, Dark, to recreate the balance
between them and find peace. While the song explains, the mv shows and affect viewers emotions
and how it affect viewers emotions is explained by the Advertising Fifteen Basic Appeals that Jib
Fowles created to show what advertisement use to lure people in. The music video that Lights
created for Ice uses Fowles s appeals to the need to aggress, aesthetic sensations, and to dominate to
show people her fight with her other side to find balance and peace,... Show more content on

At first, Lights and Dark started to fight with each other while staying in separate rooms, sending
their rays of power or energy in hopes of harming the other through the mirror in the room that
connects the two rooms. (1:50 2:00) This shows that Lights feel that she is done with her other
side trying to win her or trying to bring her down and make her continue being in the depressed,
unbalanced state and decides to fight back or start the conversation and achieve the balanced self.
Because this fight has a wall in the middle, this gives the message that even though Lights is
fighting back or starting the conversation, she is hesitant about how to fight back or that Lights is
not ready to officially start the argument with Dark and only makes small reasonings with Dark.
After Dark gets hit by one of Lights ray of power or energy, she disappeared in Lights s room and
appeared next to Lights who is in Dark s room and started to engage in a physical fight where they
would hit, kick, and punch each other. (2:10 2:42) This is where Lights and Dark officially gets
into a full on argument, where they are clear and is not afraid of letting each other know about their
real thoughts and feelings. At the end of the battle between Dark and Lights, the music video shows
Lights punching through a wall that is between them, hitting Dark causing her to fall. (2:43 2:51)

The Problem Of The Internet
There is one illness in the U.S that is growing more and more and If you are a teen, then you are
probably a victim of it. You may not even think it, but you could be addicted to the internet. The
Internet has made life alot easier by making information more accessible to all and creating
connections with different people around the world. Internetis more than likely the biggest piece of
technology that we have today. The internet is a worldwide system of computer networks and
people use this technology everyday. It s on computers, on game systems, and even on phones.
However, it has also led a lot of people to spend too much time in front of the computer, so much
so that it becomes the center of their lives. (PsychGuides) Now I know what you re thinking Now
this isn t related to me at all . teenagers are the most prone to the addictionhowever. adolescents
often become addicted to the Internet as they become less dependent on their parents. Though some
people continue to regard teen Internet addiction as little more than a parenting issue, many
experts in the field of addictions and compulsions have identified teen Internet addiction as a real
issue that is deserving of continued study (CRC health) so when it comes down to it, there is a
real issue that everyone needs to consider assuring they don t have. The amount of people who are
affected by internet addiction is so high that the University of Hong Kong researchers estimate 6
percent of the world is addict (Ben
Rational Beings In Immanuel Kant s Work
After completing this section of Immanuel Kant s work, I could not help but take issue with one of
his main points. Kant states that all rational beings should view themselves and other rational beings
as ends within themselves. Essentially, that other humans should all just have inherent value
regardless of what purpose they serve in others lives. Consequently, Kant uses this idea as a means
to set up a universal system of respect for all other humanbeings. He is underscoring the notion that
in order to be a morally correct human being, it is necessary to treat those around you with respect,
regardless of what you may or may not need, desire or want from them. However, Kant only extends
this definitive intrinsic value to other humans,
Analysis of a Paint Called Memorialized by Tyanna Buie
Thomas Merton once said Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time .
This is completely true. Throughout the semester we have gone through almost as many as 300
pictures we view, learn, decompose into the criteria it meets and talk about the controversial
things it has, while we do this we don t recognize that we also identify the form, content,
iconography, and context. All four areas are what the paint, picture or sculptures identity is. I
was lucky enough to visit my buddy out at WIU. There are many works in the art gallery, around
the union and even outside walking around, but one that did catch my attention and had me
thinking about it for quite some time. It was a painting called Memorialized by Tyanna Buie, was
made in 2011 and measures 38 x50 . The content it has is beautiful, the form is wicked, context is
superb and iconography is permanent. It reminds me of artwork we ve gone through the
semester. The painting was being showed at the art gallery in end of March. It s now May and I
can still picture it in my head so detailed, without even looking at a picture of it. It s a piece of
work I have connected to, yet lost myself in. This painting shows around five colors being used;
red, green gold, pink and white. These colors mean so much in every day life. The form shows
how lines play a big role in the body as they re symmetric all around the torso, but when connected
to the head it seems to turn into scribbles that look like flowers
Survive Shipwrecks
Science has helped people survive shipwrecks in many different ways. For example, back in 450
B.C a Greek researcher wrote about death from hypothermia. Those who could not swim perished
from that cause, others from the cold . This later lead to an Assyrian King Assur nasir Pal s army
to use inflated animal skins to cross a moat so they wouldn t be affected by the temperature of the
moat. Now moving forward in time, in 1757 A.D a Frenchman used cork to create a jacket, but it
wasn t affiliated with any cooperation. In 1851 A.D Captain John Ross Ward, British arctic
explorer, developed the first life jacket made out of cork for the National Lifeboat Institution which
was documented as the first official life jacket . Science has further

A black hole is a super dense big vacuum like object that will suck in anything that comes near
it,but a black hole is a object that over the years people doubted if they existed or not, well I m
going to tell you the facts that scientist found about black holes and if they are real and also I m
going to answer some questions that you probably never knew the answer to. To start off with there
are many different types of black holes and they are different sizes and different masses, like the
supermassive black hole. This black hole is one of the many types of black holes, but the
supermassive black hole has the same mass of billions of our suns put together and if you think
about that it would weigh a lot and a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is not possible to see a black hole is because black holes are extremely dense celestial body which
means a natural body in space and why a black hole is black is because the gravitational field is so
strong that nothing can escape from it and a black hole is surrounded by this which gives it its
round shape and light can not escape from it so thats why a black hole is black. How a black hole is
made commonly when a dying star has a mass greater than 20 times our sun. It may produce a
black hole and also when a big stars nuclear waste explodes into a super nova the core of the star
collapses on itself then the rest of the mass after the explosion would have to be 3 times the mass
of our sun then it would be able to make a black hole.
What would happen if you fell in a black hole is unknown to anybody because nobody has ever been
in a black hole. The closest black hole is in the middle of the milky way and that is too many light
years away. We wouldn t be able to find out but there are many theories about what would happen
if you fell in a black hole from all the facts about black holes and just from what people think. One
of the theories about black holes is from Polchinski and she says that once you were to enter a
black hole you would hit smack down at the end of the universe and there would be nothing it just
would be complete darkness. Another theory that Polchinski has is that once you enter a black hole
all of the information in your atoms would be
Visual Detection Of Construction Equipment Emission
Visual Detection Of Construction Equipment Emission Yi Liu Abstract Construction industry has
great impact in the environment, especially in the pollutant gas emission. Measuring the emission is
a vital part for us to take actions in order to enhance the compliance with environmental regulations
and achieve the environmental goals. Most of the previous researches only focus on the operation
phase of emission instead of the construction phase. But the fact is that more than 50% of the
emissions come from the construction site equipment. In this paper, a new method has been
presented to help solve the problem by visual monitoring the equipment activity and calculating the
total emission based on the emission factor. In order to realize... Show more content on

The fact that more than 50% emissions have been generated from the construction equipment that
has been neglected. In order to calculate the total emission of the construction phase, equipment
classification will be very helpful. However, the traditional method of classifying the action is time
consuming[1] and is prone to the human error. In order to improve the productivity and enhance the
accuracy of this practice, a new method in visual monitoring of equipment activity can be adopted.
After that, the total emission can be the multiplier of the emission factor and activity duration. In this
paper, the first section will be the overview of the industry and related previous work. Next, the
possible solution will be presented including the feature localization and recognition. It is also
accompanied with the experiment test of the algorithm. After that, the emission factor of different
equipment activity will be gathered and presented. The potential benefits and limitation of the
method will be discussed afterwards. Conclusion and future development will be in the last section.
2. Background and related work 2.1 Equipment recognition and tracking Many construction
companies are still using the tradition ways, including the crew balance chart, the five minutes rating
and etc., to observe the site productivity[12]. Although these methods are beneficial to improve the
performance, the large amount manual data collection is time consuming[1] and
Pros And Cons Of Diagnostic Testing
The diagnostic tools that I have seen used at the clinic where I do my practicum includes incision
and drainage (I D) of the abscesses, rapid strep throat testing, influenza swab, urine dip stick testing,
and slit lamp examination. These diagnostic testing provide quick result that aids with the diagnosis
of the patients. The advantages of the I D include pain and discomfort relief and faster healing time
and its disadvantages an increased risk for cellulitis and the reappearance of the pus in incision site
when the incision site is not large enough (Domino, Baldor, Golding, Stephens, 2017). In terms of
rapid strep throat testing, the pros include the ability to know the next course of action in a matter of
five (5) minutes and ensure that the patient receive appropriate treatment. The cons include the
chances of having a false positive or false negative result if not properly collected and if correctly
swabbed, the discomfort that the patient feels. In addition, if the result is negative and the
constitutional symptoms show otherwise, sending the culture to the main hospitalto determine the
other strains of the Streptococcus would take approximately 3 days and may cause... Show more

Since the stick that is used to swab needs to go all the way to the nasopharynx, some patients do
not tolerate it very well. There is an increased risk of spreading the virus due to the uncontrollable
sneezing that results from the swab. On a positive note, unnecessary testing is avoided if the
patients are low risk and shows obvious signs and symptoms of the flu and the duration of their
illness. As Lab Tests Online Australasia (2018) stated, the test should be done as soon as possible
so that the virus strain that shed during the first few days is determined. An anti viral medication
(Tamiflu) for influenza A B is given during the first 48 hours of symptom onset if that is the case,
otherwise it would not be
The Cask Of Amontillado By Edgar Alan Poe
In Platizky s (1999) article on the Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Alan Poe is choppy and,
sometimes, wandering critique. Albeit, the historical reference Platizky uses on how Poe
ambiguously capitalizes on psychological fear and historical reality (p. 206), is the ultimate
essence of the article which sets a novice reader on the right path to understanding the story.
Platizky s use of historical facts and sources leads me to believe this article could help provoke a
logical thought process for anyone to understand the fascination, and or fear, of being buried alive
and the symbols used within the story.
Platizky s article jumps from point to point with no clear direction. The order of Platizky
transition s could be more concise; instead of jumping from Poe s earlier work, to tidbits of history,
to the symbolism of points in the story, back to more historical references, and finally a weak
conclusion that leaves readers wanting closure. This fact is not forthcoming of an adequate flow to
follow. The flow is comparative to a Quentin Tarantino film jumping back and forth in the time line
of the plot.
Another aspect where Platizky s article lacks clear direction is through the explanation of the story s
symbols and how they are historically tied. The statement of how the catacombs could be symbolic
due to Christian history and their nitrous decay would serve readers best, not to elaborate on the
catacombs. In which, damp nitre filled vaults lead Montressor to ask Fortunato

Accountability What is accountability? An obligation imposed by law, lawful order, or regulation
of an officer or other person of authority for keeping accurate record of property, documents, or
funds is the best answer I can think of. Now the person having this obligation may or may not have
actual possession of an item they are accountable for, sensitive item. Accountability is concerned
primarily with records, while responsibility is concerned primarily with custody, care, and
safekeeping. What does accountability mean to the Army? Accountability is a very important part

If one were to obtain the information presented it could be used against friendly forces. Utilizing all
assets to maintain and secure sensitive items and classified information promote proper operational
security and soldier readiness. Not securing items of sensitive nature acquire the risk of loss by being
intercepted by unauthorized persons. All personnel should maintain accountability of all sensitive
material to allow full utilization by themselves and anyone involved with the mission and still
maintains operational security. Operational security can be compromised through the loss of
sensitive items due to loss of equipment used for operational planning, or items used for support
missions. Depending on the sensitive item that is being classified it could fall under a different level

unauthorized disclosure could severely damage national security to a more severe degree). With the
