Tips and Best Practices


Use large ziplock bags to store your clothes. One bag is one day's worth. When you go shower, Take
your day's worth of clothes and your shower gear. Put your dirty clothes into the ziplock bag
One set of clothes per day + one extra
Label everthing with name and troop number
Gold bond is a scout's best friend. It prevents chafing and irritaion
The foot locker is the best way to pack for long term camps. Everything you bring should fit in the box
(except for chair, sleeping bag, pillow, and cot). Box should remain locked at all times.
A watch is important at summer camp so you can make it to classes on time.
Leave electronics at home!
Two towels are for scouts that are taking water related merit badges. You don’t want to use your
shower towel for drying off after swimming in the lake.
Pack extra socks!
Your day pack should have your 10 essentials and be carried from class to class
