Invope Exam 1

The document outlines an operations research exam focused on staffing and production optimization for a company operating 24/7. It includes a linear programming model for staffing shifts, constraints on worker shifts, and a production model for flour and corn, along with sensitivity analysis requirements. The exam requires students to find optimal solutions, conduct sensitivity analyses, and interpret results related to staffing and production constraints.

OPERATIONS RESEARCH I EXAM

A company operates from Monday to Friday, 24 hours a day, wishes to hire a

number of staff working from midnight to noon (PM) and from noon to

midnight (AM). The minimum staff demand SHIFT TU MA MI JU VI

It is variable and is given in the table on the right. AM 700 300 600 850 550
Each worker must comply with the following: PM 400 800 650 850 900
a) You cannot change shifts on consecutive days but you can after a rest period.
b) You must work for 4 days a week, not necessarily consecutive.
Formulate a PL model

Given the model: a) Find and explain the solution

Max Z=2*x1+3.5*x2 (Utility in $) optimal
s.a: b) Conduct a sensitivity analysis of
4x1 + 2x2 <= 28; kgs of MP the optimality and interpreter
