Question 1 (15 Marks)


A- Find the area of the triangle of which corners are the points P1(0,4,4), P2(4,-4,4),
P3(2,2,-4) [4Marks]

B- Find a vector whose magnitude is 9 and direction is perpendicular to the vectors


A(2,-1,3), B(3,0,-2). [4 Marks]

C- A charge is uniformly distributed over a spherical volume extending between R=1 cm


and R=3 cm with charge density 1 C/m3. Determine D everywhere. [7 marks]

A- The current loop shown in Fig.1 comprises two arc segments with common center at P.
The two arcs have radii a, a/3 (a=5 cm) and make opening angles of 120° and 240°
respectively. Suppose a current I=0.5 A flows as shown. Evaluate the resulting magnetic

C- A square with sides 2 m each has a charge of 40 µC at each of its four corners. Determine
the electric field and potential at a point 5 m above the center of the square. [6 Marks]

Question 3 (10 Marks)

A. Find the force affecting on the conductor of which current is 2I in Fig. 2 due to the other
current-carrying conductors. Assume all conductors of the same length. [5 marks]

B. Calculate the capacitance and resistance of the capacitor shown in Fig. 3 with the inside
radius Ri and the outer radius Ro which charged with charge Q and filled to the half
with air and the other half is filled with a material having the permittivity ε = ε o εr.

A. Find the surface charge density on a grounded surface and above it a charge 5 µC
located 5 cm. [5 marks]

B. Find the magnetic field intensity of a circular loop of radius a carries a steady current
I in the xy-plane at a point located at distance d above the loop centre. [5 marks]
