SECTION B
Ques 11: If x=3+2√2, check whether x+1/x is rational or
irrational.

Ques 12: The polynomials f(x)= x^4 - 2x^3 + 3x^2 - a·x + b when
divided by (x-1)and (x+1) leaves the remainders 5 and 19
respectively. Find the values of a and b.. Hence, find the
remainder when f(x) is divided by (x-2).( This symbol means( ^)
the power of)

SECTION C
QUES 13: Using factor theorem , show that g (x) is a factor of
p(x) , when

f(x) = (7x^2 - 4√2·x - 6) / (x - √2),g(x) = x - √2

SECTION D
Ques 14: Find five different solutions of each of the following
equations:

SECTION E
Ques 15: Ravi is preparing a science project and plots points on
a Cartesian plane to design a solar panel frame. He places the
first corner of the panel at point A(2, 3), the second corner at
B(2, -1), the third corner at C(5, -1), and the fourth corner at
D(5, 3).
Based on this case, answer the following questions:

(a) What type of quadrilateral is formed by joining points A, B, C, and D?

(b) Find the distance between points A and B.

(c) Find the coordinates of the midpoint of diagonal AC.

(d) Which axis is point B closest to, and why?

Ques 16: Meera was asked to find the value of a polynomial at

different points. She was given the polynomial:
p(x)=x3−4x2+x+6p(x) = x^3 - 4x^2 + x + 6p(x)=x3−4x2+x+6

She substituted various values and noticed that when x=1x = 1x=1, the
polynomial evaluates to 4, and when x=−1x = -1x=−1, the value is 0.

Answer the following questions based on this situation:

(a) Is x=−1x = -1x=−1 a zero of the polynomial? Justify your answer.

(b) Factor the polynomial completely using the factor theorem.

(c) What is the degree of the polynomial?

(d) Find the value of the polynomial when x=2x = 2x=2.
