8:00 AM to August Today is a holiday, but me and my fellow trainees have On-site
6:00 PM (9 26. 2024 decided to go instead of staying at home so the hours could
hours) be counted early on. Theatmosphere in the building we're in
is quieter than usual because it is a holiday, except for
MDIES-WD where their work is exclusive 24/7. What we
did today was try ourselves in live weather broadcasting. I,
for one, have prior experience in broadcasting: in radio only
though. Live broadcasting. where you are seen in camera, is
different; so, this stillbecame a new experience to me. But
to my surprise, everything went well. I wasn't that nervous
like how i would normally do before which means l've been

better, and somehow, I managed to deliver well. Then, the

day went by so quick. By the afternoon, one of our handlers
tasked us to watch a Climate Forum by DOST-PAGASA
wherein all division of PAGASA will share their weather
outputs that concerns their job specialty. What we watched
was on the month of July and every forum happens every
month. Although if I’m being honest, it was tiring to watch,
but the forum was informative. I can say that I learned so
much while watching. Despite today being a holiday, today
was still eventful.

7:00 AM to August Today is as mundane as it gets. We did our routinely 0000z, On-site
6:00 PM 27, 2024 0300z synop sessions in the morning, and did our remaining
(10 hours) tasks needed to be done for this week. At the afternoon
came the surprise. Our classmates from other companies
have told us that our OJT advisers will do a surprise visit to
each of one of us on-site. Well, not anymore. So, my fellow
trainees and I prepared as such (not really) before their
visit. And when the time came, I was glad it went well! We
all both got shy to each other (I didn’t know why), but the
visit was successful. Our advisers told us that they had fun
visiting us and that we were really enjoying our OJT
experience, which was relieving to know.

0 hours August Classes were suspended today. N/A

28, 2024

7:00 AM to August Today was the submission of our case study. To our surprise, On-site
6:00 PM 29, 2024 we were called upon to report our case study, which was not
(10 hours) suppose to be the case, yet there we were; then so be it. I’m
quite not sure if we did alright but I know for sure that I did
my best on my part in our case study. The afternoon went by,
and we were asked to go and stay somewhere while the office
handles the ISO audit. We asked our fellow trainees from
another division if they could let us stay in their office for a
bit. To which thankfully, they agreed. It was our second time
visiting their office and we explained to our fellow trainees’
supervisors why we were there. And while being there, we
tried observing along with them. I’ve got to say, their job is
harder than you can imagine. Observing the day sky with the
sun obstructing your vision? No, thank you. But I can say
that my fellow trainees are enjoying their job there a lot. We

stayed there for a good 3 hours before returning back to our

office. Before ending the day, we did 0900z synop together
and that’s about it for this day!

7:00 AM to August Ah, last day of this week. Today was supposed to be our last On-site
7:00 PM 30, 2024 day of our OJT but because classes were suspended last
(11 hours) Wednesday, we still need a day to finish. In the morning, we
were given survey forms where we need to rate ourselves,
my fellow trainees, our handlers, and our supervisor, after
our 0000z synop session. I was excited to answer them but I
didn’t know that I will take longer to answer that expected.
If I wasn’t eating during the time allotted to us, I would’ve
finished answering in no time. But I was, and I finished
answering by the time it’s 0300z. So, 3 hours for the surveys?
Wow. Moving on, the day went by not so heavy. Since there
aren’t any tasks left for us to do (the case study was our final
task), I took my sweet time and slept in the office. As the
hours pass by, I can’t help but think that I’ll miss the office
for the time being. Today was supposed to our last day, but
I’m glad it was not.

Provide a brief summary of the goals, activities, and outcomes for the week.

Aside from doing the regular synop sessions (0000z, 0300z, 0600z, and 0900z), I have mustered up my
courage to do live broadcasting and deliver well my piece. I know for myself that I can do better than that. I
hope I can try to do it again soon.

Describe any knowledge, skills or experience gained over the week.

Nothing new is gained. Just improved knowledge, skills, and experience from collecting surface data in
0000z, 0300z, 0600z, and 0900z, collecting upper air data, memorizing the weather parameters of a synoptic
data, as well as recognizing the errors on each one.
