Purpose and audience of the project

The purpose behind the digital information point is it will be used by customers to find the
location and details of the facilities, lessons and virtual reality ski simulator. The audience for
the information point will be adults, families with young children and visitors with
accessibility needs. The main target is to satisfy the everyone’s needs and wants by making
any information clear and possibly giving them an opportunity to use the virtual reality ski
simulator so we can make sure the audience will have an easy and enjoyable time using the
digital information point.

Project requirements
The digital information point will be accessed using touch screens positioned around ski
arena and have easy navigation. This should be a very easy to use digital information point
and it should be able to support any accessibility needs so no one will have a problem using
it. The audience will be adults, families with young children and visitors with accessibility
needs. Furthermore, the digital information’s points should be located somewhere that is
vastly populated in people hence more people will be able to acknowledge it and it may help
them with their trip to ski arena I also need to have meetings with the client. It is important
to work within the budget ski arena has given me which is £7900 and a time limit for the
project to be installed by at ski arena which is 12 weeks, which will be 3 weeks for design, 7
weeks for development stage and 2 weeks for review stage. Where the project will need to
be planned, created and then I will review it. I will make sure all the information is clear and
the information point is easy to use with a navigation menu on each slide

User accessibility requirements

The user accessibility needs will make sure that there will be no constraints towards the
audience. There will be house colours so there will be simplicity and no confusion. By
keeping it simple everyone should be able to comprehend everything. In addition, another
requirement is there will be a colour blind people that will use the information point so,
there will be a special section for people with special need so it they will be able to
understand the text and use the information system. Another user accessibility requirement
that will be used on the information point is large sized icons so its clickable. This can be
used to help people that cannot see very well or have reading problems like dyslexia for
example. Another requirement is to have a consistent layout so the user knows what to
expect on each page and I will use hyperlinks to make a navigation menu.
Constraints

The constraints when making digital information points include: budget, time, resources, security and
task dependencies.

The reason behind why the budget is a constraint is there will be a certain limit on money that you can
spend on the digital information point hence not being able to make better improvements on all of
them so it limits your choices that you have when making improvements on the information point.

Time is also a constraint, reason being there is a limited amount of time to complete the project and
therefore you might not have in time making it a waste of your money if you don’t get to finish it so I
will plan my project well with my planning tools and set clear milestones. There will be drawback of
using the waterfall method which I will use so I will stick to my plans as I will only have 6 hours the
drawback is I cannot go onto the next stage until finish one stage and that could take time and I only
have 6 hours so I have to follow my plans. The resources are also a constraint as I am only limited to
using the school’s hardware and software limits because I can only use those to complete the task. But
it be ok as I can use the hardware and software in school so it should be ok Another constraint is
security. I will need to put a password on my work so I can make sure all my files are safe and aren’t
hacked. I might also get a virus or lose my work so I will save my work always and keep it in the correct
folders with proper good file names.
