TYPES OF CLIENT COPY

➢ client copy is the process of duplicating an existing client's data and


configuration to create a new client.
➢ Client is an independent entity with in the system
➢ This allows for testing, development, or training without affecting the
production environment.
➢ We have few types of client copy
1. Local client copy (SCCL)
2. Remote client copy (SCC9)
3. Client Import / Export (SCC8)

LOCAL CLIENT COPY


➢ Local client copy occurs within the same SAP system,
➢ Client Copy always from the target System Only.
➢ Client Copy is only a Pull (Copy) method.
➢ Go to target system > Execute SCCL

➢ Select the profile which will specify the data that need to be copied (by
default select SAP_CUST during Implementation)

➢ Schedule client copy in background only

➢ Select schedule timing of immediate, Afterjob, After event Date/time

➢ It will shows pop up Select given profile

➢ In SCC3 we can see logs number of tables, Deleted lines, Copied lines

➢ I have kareem555 user in client 000 we performed client copy so in client


001 should be opened

➢ In 001 client user kareem555 Is opened can see in navigation

REMOTE CLIENT COPY


➢ This technique uses Remote function call.
➢ You can view RFC from SM59. This technique depends on the network,
so network connectivity must be strong enough.

➢ Goto > utilities > test > Authorization test

➢ if anything is wrong, we will get error

➢ Step 1) Log on to the target system...Create SALE/BD54 for


specific name SKM>CLNT>300 Create a new target client entry
using SCC4

Goto > Basic settings > Logical Systems >Define Logical System

➢ Click on ok, Click on New Entry SKMCLNT100 click on SAVE

➢ It will pop up a workbench request create a new request

➢ Go to se01 release transport request click on

➢ Go to SCC4 create a client

➢ client is created

➢ Mention profile, Source destination and Start Immediately

➢ Click on Continue

➢ Remote client copy is completed

CLIENT EXPORT

➢ Before you import a client, you need to export. Export is nothing but
transferring data files and co-files from source system’s database to
target system’s import buffer. Execute T-code SCC8.

➢ Log on to the target system . Create an entry for your new target
client using SCC4. Log on to the source system/source client

➢ Select profile SAP_ALL, Select Target system schedule in background

➢ Schedule job in background

➢ Click on continue

➢ Once the job is executed data files and co-files of profiles from SKM system’s
database are transferred to DEV system’s import buffer.Once we will import
request in SKM only then it will be reflected in a database of SKM system.

Depending on the chosen export profile there can be up to transport requests created:

➢ Request SKMKT00002 will hold the cross-client data,

➢ Request SKMKO00002 will hold the client dependent data,

➢ Request SKMKX00002 will also hold some client dependent data.

➢ Background job is scheduled succesfully we can see in SCC3

➢ Client export is completed. can see difference in both shown screen shots

➢ First create some users in SU10.

➢ In logan Data keep user type SERVICE and SAVE

➢ MASS users are created

➢ Go to RZ10 go to utilities >import files >of active servers

➢ Disable sapstar by using parameter


login/no_automatic_user_sapstar

➢ Parameter value 0

➢ Select profile and click on NO

➢ After changing value of parameter RESTART the system

➢ IN OS-LEVEL STOP AND START SYSTEM

➢ Execute SCC3

➢ Select the given profile of SAP_USER

➢ Pop up shown with SKMKT00005

➢ Go to stms_import
➢ Click on the transport request and release

➢ Recheck the SID and click on TICK

➢ Go to SCC3 and select the imported option and double click on it

➢ Now login to client and execute SU01 and give * and click on ok

➢ it will dispay all the created users which are we created in other client

➢ CLIENT IMPORT IS CREATED
