The 90-Minute Strong Coding Plan

The 90-Minute Strong Coding Plan by Sagar Chouksey emphasizes focused, intentional learning over lengthy study sessions to effectively learn coding. It outlines a structured approach divided into three phases: priming the brain, deep focused work, and reflection, which should be followed consistently for 30 days. The 90-Minute Strong Coding Plan

By Sagar Chouksey
Learn faster. Code better. Get more done in less time.

Page 1: Why Most People Fail to Learn Coding (and How You
Can Do It Differently)
Thousands of students spend hours every day learning to code. They watch tutorial after
tutorial, read blog after blog, and attend dozens of webinars. But after weeks or months, they’re
still stuck.
They can't build projects from scratch.
They can't clear coding interviews.
They can't solve real-world problems.
The reason? It's not a lack of intelligence. It's not the wrong course.

It's lack of focused, intentional learning.

In a world full of distractions, time is no longer your biggest problem.
Attention is.
If you want to learn coding efficiently, grow faster, and actually become a developer, you don’t
need 6 hours a day. You need 90 minutes of focused, structured learning every single day.
That’s what this guide is about.

Page 2: The 90-Minute Strong Coding Plan (Step-by-Step)

This plan breaks your learning into three simple phases:

1. Prime your brain

2. Do focused deep work

3. Reflect and reinforce

Each phase has a clear purpose and rules. Follow it consistently, and within 30 days, you’ll
build real momentum.

Phase 1: Prime Your Brain (10 Minutes)

Start with intention. This is your mental warm-up.
What to do:

The 90-Minute Strong Coding Plan 1

Review what you did yesterday. What worked? What didn’t?

Set today’s goal. Make it clear and realistic. Example: “Build the login form using
HTML/CSS.”

Close all distractions. Turn off notifications. Shut down unnecessary apps and tabs.

Open only one tool: VS Code, Jupyter, or the specific IDE you need.

Why this matters:

You can't focus if your brain is scattered. These 10 minutes align your energy, tools, and
direction.

Phase 2: Deep Coding Session (70 Minutes)

This is your main focus block. No breaks. No switching.
What to do:

Work on a single task or project. It could be building a section of a web app, solving 5 DSA
problems, or writing one complete Python script.

Avoid tutorial-hopping or watching videos. Only refer when absolutely necessary.

Work independently. Treat it like a real job.

Write code manually. Don’t copy-paste.

Note down any bugs, confusion, or errors in a journal or Notion doc.

Examples of strong tasks:

Building a dashboard using Pandas and Streamlit

Creating a portfolio section with HTML and CSS

Solving 5 Leetcode problems on arrays

Why this works:

Your brain reaches its peak focus in deep work mode. In this time, you're not just learning –
you're building mental muscle.

Phase 3: Reflect and Log (10 Minutes)

Don’t rush to shut down after coding. Use this time to reinforce learning.
What to do:

Write down what you completed.

Summarize what confused you or what bugs you faced.

Note 3 takeaways from the session. What did you learn or improve?

The 90-Minute Strong Coding Plan 2

Decide what tomorrow's focus will be.

Why this matters:

Reflection builds memory and insight. It also shows you progress over time, which boosts
motivation.

Page 3: How to Stay Consistent (And Build Momentum)

You now have a daily 90-minute plan. But how do you make sure you stick to it?
Here are 5 rules that separate finishers from quitters:

1. Code at the same time daily

Pick one time that suits your energy levels — morning before work, late night, or afternoon.
Train your mind to expect deep work at that hour. Make it a ritual.

2. Don’t break the chain

Do it for 7 days. Then 14. Then 30. Don’t skip. Even 60% output is better than 0%. Mark each
day in a tracker. Consistency is where real growth happens.

3. Use the same workspace

Have one spot where you do only coding. Clean, quiet, and organized. Don’t mix it with
entertainment or scrolling. This trains your brain to enter focus mode faster.

4. Track your growth weekly

At the end of each week, ask:

What did I build?

What did I struggle with?

What did I learn?

What will I do better next week?

Keep this in a log. It builds confidence and clarity.

5. Stop chasing content. Start producing.

Don’t fall into the trap of watching tutorials endlessly. Learn the basics, and apply them in real
projects. Share your code, ask for feedback, and repeat. Action > Absorption.

Set today’s 1 clear goal

Closed all tabs except one

Opened only necessary coding tools

Phase 2: Deep Work Session (70 minutes)

Worked on one focused coding task

Avoided tutorials and distractions

Wrote notes on bugs or confusion

Phase 3: Reflect and Log (10 minutes)

Day 2 Yes 90 min Yes

Day 3 No 30 min No

Day 4 Yes 90 min Yes

Visual Tip for Notion: Add a progress bar with formula logic to show streak %.

5. Focus Reflection Notes (Free Text Section)

Use this space daily or weekly to answer:

What slowed me down today?

What helped me stay focused?

Am I working or just consuming content?

What’s one thing I’ll do better tomorrow?

Final Words
If you follow this 90-minute plan daily, your results in 30 days will shock you.
You’ll go from passive learner to confident builder.

You’ll stop copying and start creating.

You’ll finally feel like a real coder.
Remember: It’s not about doing more.

It’s about doing the right thing with full focus.

Your time is limited. Use it wisely. Show up. Build daily.
And your coding career will take care of itself.
