🔹 Definition of Monitor
A monitor is a primary output device of a computer system that displays visual information, including
text, images, and videos. It allows users to interact with the graphical user interface (GUI) of an operating
system and applications. Monitors are connected to the computer via a video card (graphics card), which
processes and sends the data to be displayed.
🔹 Functions of a Monitor
Resolution: The clarity or detail of the image, measured in pixels (e.g., 1920x1080).
Screen Size: Measured diagonally in inches; varies based on use (typical range: 19"–34").
Aspect Ratio: The width-to-height ratio (commonly 16:9 for widescreen).
Refresh Rate: Number of times the screen updates per second (measured in Hz).
Response Time: Time taken for pixels to change from one color to another (important for gaming
and video editing).
