1. Determine the force F needed to hold the 4-kg lamp in the position shown in Fig1.

2. The ends of the three cables are attached to ring at A and to the edge of a uniform 150-kg plate.
Determine the tension in each of the cables for equilibrium shown in Fig2.

3. A 100 Kg crate, as shownin Fig3, is supported by three cords. One cord has a spring in it. Find the
tension in cords AC and ADand the stretch of the spring.

4. The 10 kg lamp in Fig4, is suspended from the three equal-length cords. Determine its smallest
vertical distance is from the ceiling if the force developed in any cord is not allowed to exceed 50 N.
