Physics Technology
The rapid advancement of technology over the last century is largely due to breakthroughs in physics.
Lasers, semiconductors, and fiber optics—all based on physical principles—have made possible everything
from smartphones to the internet. In medicine, physics is behind technologies like MRI, X-rays, and
radiation therapy. In transportation, it drives innovations in electric vehicles and aerodynamics. Each new
understanding of the physical world leads to innovations that transform society. Without physics, much of
today’s modern world would not exist.
