Writing Affective Objectives
Writing Affective Objectives
Affective Objectives are used to cultivate certain feelings, emotions or attitudes towards the skills they
perform, and knowledge acquired. The idea is that once these are cultivated, then the learner will value
why it is important to do or know something, and show an appreciation, enthusiasm and motivation for
doing or knowing it.
Behaviour: The behaviour consists of a Verb and a Content reference. Some verbs can be used in
more than one domain, therefore, it is important to look at the content reference that follows.
Condition: The condition determines how we want the behaviour for the affective to be done or
portrayed.
Degree: The degree highlights how we expect the behaviour/feeling to be measured /achieved–
example: 100% compliance, 100% consistency, 100% adherence to policies/rules, with 5 supporting
evidence or arguments, and so on.
