1. (a) In the figure, ΔAPQ is similar to ΔABC, given that AP = 4cm, PB = 6 cm,

BC = 10 cm and AC = 15 cm,

find the lengths of AQ and PQ.

Answer: AQ = 6cm. PQ = 4 cm

2. A pupil has a plastic ball and a basketball which is larger. If the diameters are in the ratio 1: 3 ,
what is the ratio of their;

(a) Surface areas;

(b) volumes.

Answer: (a) = i/9, (b)= 1/27.
