The thesis develops a traceability system for machined parts, addressing the complexities of tracking products from raw material to finished part through various manufacturing processes. It introduces the concept of Points of Data Traceability Recording (PDTR), which are specific to each workpiece and documented on data sheets. The aim is to enhance the reliability of production systems and facilitate the recall of defective products or address failures.

The work in the present thesis focuses on the development of an implementing technique of a

traceability system for machined parts. When manufacturing mechanical parts, implementation of
traceability is very complex since the product to be manufactured undergoes transformations from
raw material to finished part through several operations of material removal respecting a specific
process plan. So the feature of marking a traceability code on a workpiece must be carefully
considered. The codification g is based on the quality procedures ISO 8402 standard incorporated in
1987 and on ISO 9001: 2000. The objective of this work has an exploratory nature of the issue as it
can support the importance of implementing a traceability system in a given machining workshop of
a manufacturing company. In this work, the concept of points of data traceability recording (PDTR)
has been introduced for the first time to take place in the process plan of parts to be machined. It is
shown that the PDTR are specific to each type of workpiece. So, these points are materialized by a
data sheet containing the information to be recorded at each point. The objective is to recover the
memory of a particular piece that was shaped by means of a made reliable production system that
involves removing material from raw to finished part will be used to perform a required function.
This is the challenge of a company that runs the risk when it comes to recall defective or appraise
the event of unpredictable failures in their product. Keywords: Machining, Wear, Reliability, Digital
