Quantum Computer

Quantum computing is a multidisciplinary field that leverages quantum mechanics to solve complex problems more efficiently than classical computers. It has significant potential applications in security, artificial intelligence, and drug design, but faces challenges such as high costs, error correction issues, and environmental sensitivity of qubits. The processing power of quantum computers increases exponentially with the addition of qubits, unlike classical computers which increase linearly with bits.

What is Quantum Computing?

Quantum Computing according to google is a multidisciplinary field
comprising aspects of computer science, physics, and mathematics that
utilizes quantum mechanics to solve complex problems faster than on
classical computers. The field of quantum computing includes hardware
research and application development.
Furthermore, what is quantum mechanics? It refers to a branch of
physics that describes how matter, energy, and light behave at the atomic
and subatomic level. According to Wikipedia , is a fundamental theory that
describes the behavior of nature at and below the scale of atoms?[2]: 1.1 It is
the foundation of all quantum physics, which includes quantum
chemistry, quantum field theory, quantum technology, and quantum
information science.

Let’s know more about Quantum Computing .

Quantum theory explains the behavior of energy and material on the
atomic and subatomic levels.
Quantum Computing uses subatomic particles; such as electron or photons.
Quantum bit or qubits, allows the element to exist in more than one state
(i.e. 1 and 0) at the same time.
Furthermore, the field of quantum computing emerges in the 1980’s. It was
discovered that certain computational problems could be tackled more
effectively with quantum algorithms than their classical counterpart.
Quantum computing has the capability to sift through huge numbers
possibilities and extract potential solutions to complex problems and
challenges. Where classical computations stores information as bits with 1s

or 0s, quantum computing uses qubits. Qubits carries information in a

quantum states which engages 0s and 1s in a multidimensional way. Such
massive potentials and the project market size of its use have attracted the
attention of some of the most potential companies like; IBM, Microsoft,
Google, Intel, D-wave system, Alibaba etc.
Uses and Pros of Quantum Computing

Quantum computing can contribute to the field of security, artificial

intelligence, machine learning, Military affairs, drugs designs, digital
manufacturing. Quantum computing can be used to increase the security
sharing of information. We can use chemical sensor to improve our
environment and the water we drink. Quantum computing can be used to
design more effective, safer aircraft and traffic planning systems.
Companies can use quantum computing to design potential portfolio for
investing. Quantum computing could help manufacturers’ better understand
new materials into products such as batteries. Quantum computing can be
used in the medical discipline to design new drug that will solve specific
issues that the classical computing may not detect or solve properly.
Quantum computing improve data security it promotes strong data
encryption, it also improve fraud detection.

Quantum computing vs. Classical computing

Quantum computers have a more basic structure than classical computers.

They have no memory or processor. All a quantum computer uses is a set of
superconducting qubits.
Quantum computers and classical computers process information
differently. A quantum computer uses qubits to run multidimensional
quantum algorithms. Their processing power increases exponentially as
qubits are added. A classical processor uses bits to operate various
programs. Their power increases linearly as more bits are added. Classical
computers have much less computing power.

THE RISE OF QUANTUM COMPUTING: POTENTIAL AND CHALLENGE

Quantum computers are more expensive and difficult to build than classical
computers.

Challenges of Quantum Computing

 Quantum computer are very expensive to build.
 DE coherence can be caused by slight disturbance in the qubits
environment. This result in the collapse of computations or error to
them. It must be secured for all external interference during the
process of computing or computations stage.
 Error correction during the computing stage hasn't been perfected.
That makes computations potentially unreliable. Since qubits aren't
digital bits of data, they can't benefit from conventional error
correction solutions used by classical computers.
 Security and quantum cryptography is not yet fully developed.

In addition, these systems only operate for very short intervals of time, so
that the information becomes damaged and cannot be stored, making it
even more difficult to recover the data
