Title: "Max's First Day"

Max was a curious little boy with big brown eyes and an even bigger backpack.
Today was a special day—it was his first day of school. He had been waiting for this
moment all summer, and now, it was finally here.

Max woke up early, brushed his teeth, and put on his favorite red sneakers. He
checked his backpack three times: pencil case? Check. Notebook? Check. Dinosaur
lunchbox? Check!

“Ready, champ?” asked his mom, smiling at the doorway.

“Ready!” Max said with a grin that stretched from ear to ear.

As they walked to school, Max's excitement started to mix with nervous butterflies.
What if he couldn’t make any friends? What if the teacher was mean? What if he
missed home?

But the moment he stepped into his classroom, all his worries melted away.

“Hi! I’m Lily,” said a girl with curly hair and purple glasses. “Do you want to sit next
to me?”

“Okay,” Max replied, smiling shyly.

Their teacher, Mr. Leo, was warm and funny. He read them a story about a dancing
penguin and let them draw pictures of their dream pets. Max drew a green dragon
with sunglasses.

At lunchtime, Max shared some of his dinosaur-shaped cookies with Lily. She traded
him half of her peanut butter sandwich. They both agreed it was a pretty good deal.

By the end of the day, Max had learned a song about the alphabet, made three new
friends, and decided that school wasn’t scary at all.

As his mom picked him up, Max said, “Can I come back tomorrow?”

She laughed. “You have to come back tomorrow. That’s how school works.”

“Good,” Max said, already dreaming of dragons, dancing penguins, and peanut butter
sandwiches.
