Smart Money Concept (SMC) Strategy for Gold (XAU/USD)

Date: June 08, 2025

SMC STRATEGY FOR GOLD (XAU/USD)

Timeframes:

- HTF: 1 Hour (Trend/Bias)

- LTF: 5 Minute (Precise Entry)

STEP 1: DETERMINE HTF STRUCTURE (1H)

- Look for Break of Structure (BOS)

- Bullish BOS = higher highs and higher lows

- Bearish BOS = lower highs and lower lows

- Mark HTF Order Block (OB) - Last candle before impulsive move

- Identify Liquidity zones - equal highs/lows or wicks

STEP 2: ZOOM INTO 5M FOR ENTRY SETUP

- Wait for price to reach HTF OB or liquidity zone

- Look for:

1. CHoCH (Change of Character)

2. Break of Structure (BOS)

3. Liquidity sweep (inducement)

4. Return to 5M OB

ENTRY RULES:

- Entry: Limit order at 5M OB

- SL: Just below/above OB

- TP1: Nearest liquidity zone

- TP2: HTF structure target

- Risk:Reward = Minimum 1:3

REAL EXAMPLE WALKTHROUGH:

- HTF Bias: Bullish (BOS above 1900)

- OB: Last red candle before bullish rally around 1905

- Price retraces into 1905 OB zone

- On 5M:

- CHoCH appears, then BOS

- Liquidity sweep wick forms

- Entry: 1905.50 | SL: 1903.50 | TP1: 1910.00 | TP2: 1915.00

RESULT: TP HIT -> +3R
