Game doesn't launch, stuck at "launching game" then gives an error. Every other game I've been
playing with game pass works. Applies to:

Tried: WSReset, reinstalling Gaming Services, reinstalling game, restarting PC Windows / Windows 10 / Gaming

Try this procedure:

1 - Access the link below and install the "App Installer"

2 - Click Start menu and search for Windows PowerShell, open with Admin privileges.

Copy and paste the following command by hitting enter after each one
(When a conformation message appears, type Y)

winget uninstall -e Microsoft.GamingApp_8wekyb3d8bbwe

winget uninstall -e Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_8wekyb3d8bbwe

winget uninstall -e Microsoft.XboxSpeechToTextOverlay_8wekyb3d8bbwe

winget uninstall -e Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay_8wekyb3d8bbwe

winget uninstall -e Microsoft.GamingServices_8wekyb3d8bbwe

3 - Access the folder through the path

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bb
we

(Change "username" by your username)

Locate the "Local Cache" folder and erase all content

Restart your Windows

4 - Then open PowerShell window with Admin privileges.

copy and paste the following command:

winget install 9MV0B5HZVK9Z

(When a conformation message appears, type Y)

5 - Now, copy and paste the next command

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

When open Microsoft Store Gaming Services Page, click Install for the Service app on
that page

Restart your windows

So I did all this and now the Xbox app won't launch at all, it's stuck on the xbox logo
pulsing.

I already had the same problem


Let's try some other procedures to solve the problem.

Try this procedure:

1 - Click Start menu and search for Windows PowerShell, open with Admin privileges.

Copy and paste the following command by hitting enter after each one
(When a conformation message appears, type Y)

winget uninstall -e Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe

winget uninstall -e Microsoft.GamingApp_8wekyb3d8bbwe

winget uninstall -e Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_8wekyb3d8bbwe

winget uninstall -e Microsoft.XboxSpeechToTextOverlay_8wekyb3d8bbwe

winget uninstall -e Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay_8wekyb3d8bbwe

winget uninstall -e Microsoft.GamingServices_8wekyb3d8bbwe

2 - Clear all of the Windows Temporary files

Open Settings by pressing the Windows Key + I.


Next search for "Delete temporary files".
Now click Temporary files.

Check all boxes except "Downloads" and click "Remove Files"

3 - Open CMD in administrator mode run the commands by pressing enter after each
one:

Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

Wait for the process to finish

4 - Then copy and paste the following command by hitting enter after each one:

Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -


DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
winget install 9MV0B5HZVK9Z

When finished, restart Windows

Open the Microsoft Store and install Xbox App and add-on applications requested by
the app

Got the xbox app back and all my other games work again, but Deathloop is still a no-
go lol. Seems like a problem with the game since a lot of people are having the same
issue and since all my other games work fine.

Deathloop still busted, looking at reddit at lot of people having the same issue.
Someone tell Game Pass to get their **** together, this happens all the time. At least
Playstation plus games work.

Tried all of these and no fix, Deathloop doesn't launch, stuck on the splash screen with
"Launching game" and then just goes away, no error code anymore. Every other game
pass game I play works, I even downloaded some more games to test; single player
games, online only multiplayer games, all work except for Deathloop.

Honestly, I've spent more time trying to fix the issue than I'll probably spend playing
the game, which is sad when it's clearly an issue with Xbox Game Pass and it's
Deathloop version.

I'm just going to play the PS5 version on Playstation Plus Extra since it actually works.

I suggest pushing this up the chain as the "fixes" you gave me where just further
proof of how busted Game Pass for PC is and that people have to do ridiculous things
like changing time/date of your system and that nowhere is there an official statement
or fix from Microsoft, all the ways around the spaghetti code of Game Pass is found by
random users trying to play their games.

If you want to report this bug to Microsoft you may be able to help improve this
product/experience by using the Feedback Hub in Start Menu, especially if you are
willing to share logs and other requested information. While they will probably not
see this here in the forums, Microsoft developers DO read feedback from customers
that comes in via the Feedback Hub, so that is a great way to share your thoughts on
how to better serve you as a customer.

They will not even see it here, where we do care and want to see it get fixed/
