1. Assume suitable data wherever necessary.
2. Non programmable scientific calculators are allowed.

1 (a) Explain the Programmed and non-Programmed decisions by [5] CO-1 L1
stating suitable example of each . Also state which levels in
organization handles programmed and non-programmed
decisions.

(b) What is meta data ? State it’s significance. Elaborate [5] CO-1 L2
administrative, descriptive and structured meta data with one
example of each .

(C) Explain the Evolution of Information with respect to Electricity Bill [5] CO-1 L3
generation. You are required to state evolution for information with
reference to information life cycle management stages.

(d) Classify the following into Tacit , Explicit, Procedural and [5] CO-1 L3
declarative knowledge by justifying it :

2 (a) Explain what are bar codes and QR codes and how they are [3] CO-2 L1
useful in maintaining inventory of grocery shop.

(b) Explain the data acquisition types you have studied . [3] CO-2 L2

(C) Explain the Encryption and decryption with suitable examples. [4] CO-2 L3

3 (a) If Income tax department of india wants to go for cloud solution [5] CO-3 L4
which factors one should consider before opting any cloud
solution?

(b) Suggest appropriate use cases for the use of various wireless [5] CO-3 L5
communication options such as Wireless local area networks
(WLAN), satellite broadband, Infrared communication ,Bluetooth
and radio communication.

4 (a) A confectionary shop has fifteen different types of confectionaries [5] CO-4 L3
and wanted to observe the total sales of each type of
confectionary , suggest a appropriate chart for the same. Justify
your suggestion by giving model chart. You can assume the sales
of confectionary for chart model.

(b) Suggest a dynamic dashboard model (with a rough sketch) and [5] CO-4 L4
appropriate charts and components for a multiplex owner.

(c) Justify how each of the chart type you have recommended in 4(b) [5] CO-4 L5
will be useful for multiplex owner for taking decisions for his
business.

5 (a) What are different HCI types you came across in your day to day [5] CO-5 L1
life ?

(b) You are using OLA app for cab booking, analyze this app for [5] CO-5 L3
Neilson’s guidelines.

(c) A renowned Neurosurgeon wants to make his own web portal and [10] CO-5 L4
mobile app which will help his patients to take his appointments,
record their case- histories and treatment details, give them
reminders for the next visit and alerts for their medication. For
making the Human-computer interaction more effective suggest
the any ten guidelines which you feel important .(no particular
model is expected i.e. Schinderman, Norman ,Neilson)

(d) Conduct a quick usability evaluation for current your mobile phone [10] CO-5 L5
and compare it with your older mobile phone on the following five
usability criterions.(you can mention the make and model of your
phones)

Justify rating with suitable feature description.Rating will be on


the scale of 10 as 8-10: Excellent, 5-7: Good, 3-4: Avg 1-2 :Poor

6 (a) Differentiate between Microprocessor and microcontroller.(five

(b) The students of MITAOE are working on the project of Automated
fire alarm system for MIT Academy of Engineering college
campus. It is expected that if fire is sensed in any on the buildings
or any floor it should be intimated to all the departments of the [5] CO-6 L2
college by mobile alerts as well as alarm system. Suggest whether
Arduino or Rasberry Pi will be used for the project with proper
justification (minimum five points for justification are expected).

(c) Explain the how the IOT will help any educational organization to
[5] CO-6 L5
improve their processes.You can state your assumptions clearly.
