 Understand Operations Research characteristics, its role in decision-making, and the
importance of computers.
 Master linear programming for two variables, including formulation, graphical
solution, and simplex method application.
 Explore advanced linear programming concepts: algebraic methods, chains, two-
phase simplex, and duality.
 Develop competence in solving transportation models using techniques like
row/column minima and Vogel’s method.
 Gain proficiency in defining assignment models, distinguishing them from
transportation models, and solving sequencing problems.
Course Outcomes: (for students: To know what they are going to learn)
CO1: Articulate Operations Research characteristics, significance, and the role of
computers.
CO2: Demonstrate proficiency in formulating and solving linear programming problems.
CO3: Apply advanced linear programming techniques: algebraic methods, chains, and dual
