The University of Fortune, Igbotako, Ondo State, Nigeria, a recently established


university committed to academic excellence, research, community service, and
innovation, is pleased to invite applications from talented and suitably qualified
personnel for various academic and non-academic positions. Prospective applicants
must demonstrate exemplary scholarship, integrity, leadership qualities, a
commitment to professional growth, and foster institutional development. This is a

landscape of Nigeria and beyond. The positions available are:

1. PRINCIPAL OFFICERS
(a) Vice Chancellor.
The Responsibilities.
The Vice-Chancellor is the Chief Executive Officer and Academic Head of the
University, Chairman of all distinct bodies established by law (such as the Senate
and Congregation), and a member of the University's Governing Council. The
Vice-Chancellor will drive innovation in a competitive environment and ensure
that the university's strategic objectives align with the targets outlined in the master
plan and academic master plan submitted to the National Universities Commission
of Nigeria. The Vice-Chancellor must demonstrate the ability to make informed
decisions and balance the ecosystem, prioritising stakeholders' interests as the top
priority of Value Stick University. The Vice-Chancellor will report to the
University Governing Council. His specific duties include, but are not limited to:
General supervision and control of the daily activities of the University General
responsibility to the Governing Council for maintaining and promoting the
efficiency and good order of the University. Ensuring that the provisions of the
University's laws, statutes, ordinances, and bylaws are meticulously observed.
Advising the Council on any matters that affect the policies, finances, and general
administration of the University.

Qualities and Qualifications of the Candidate


The applicant must:

Be a professor with a proven ability to provide exemplary university leadership


from a recognised university.
Be a university professor prepared to embrace new learning and culture as part of
the global academic system. Have published extensively at national and
international levels and are interested in various research methodologies.
Be at the forefront of innovation, or be prepared to organise innovation, and
provide evidence of exceptional social networks or readiness to manage social
capital networks. Hold a Doctor of Philosophy degree. Possess evidence of prudent
resource management. Demonstrate unquestionable integrity and be prepared to
make sacrifices for the common good of the University. Understand the current
demands of university leadership. Be capable of commanding the respect and
loyalty of staff members, students, and the public (Community Acceptance). Be
compliant with Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Be someone
who can easily align with the university's vision and mission for accelerated
development. Possess valid physical and mental health certifications and a clean
medical report. Be imaginative, innovative, dynamic, resourceful, and responsive,
with the ability to aggregate excellent human capacity to promote teamwork.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal and team-building skills, along with the ability to
foster connections between all relevant stakeholders. Demonstrate the
entrepreneurial drive expected of a 21st-century university with a proven ability to
attract local and international grants and prizes for research and development.
Experience is essential, but a more significant priority is the willingness to learn
the valuable aspects of modern engagement values and to transfer innovation
within an expanding social capital network.

Remunerations

The reward system is appealing. However, the University shall provide excellent
accommodation on campus for both office and residence. In addition, the
University will provide all official vehicles.

(b) The Deputy Vice-Chancellor


The responsibilities are the same as those of the Vice-Chancellor mentioned above.
The candidate must demonstrate collaborative capabilities and a willingness to
work in a non-combative ecosystem.
Remunerations
The reward system is appealing. However, the University shall provide excellent
accommodation on campus for both office and residence. In addition, the
University will provide all official vehicles.

(c) Registrar

The Responsibilities:
The Registrar is the head of the central administrative services at the university. He
is responsible for managing and professionally developing staff and overseeing
various initiatives. The Registrar supervises the registration process, maintains
accurate student records, and ensures academic regulations and policies adherence.
Furthermore, they coordinate course scheduling, oversee the issuance of academic
transcripts, and support students, faculty, and staff. The Registry of the University
coordinates various departments and units to ensure efficiency and optimal
performance outcomes.

Qualifications
The candidate must possess a minimum of a Second-Class Lower Division degree
in Social Sciences or Humanities from a recognised University. A higher degree(s)
in relevant disciplines will be an advantage.

The candidate must be a member of at least one relevant administrative or


professional association. They must be knowledgeable in Information and
Communication Technology (ICT) and demonstrate the capacity to deploy ICT
skills in regular university administrative and management functions. The
candidate must be physically and mentally fit, have high integrity, and have good
leadership qualities. In addition, the candidate must possess high interpersonal
skills and impressive verbal and written communication skills.

The candidate must have at least ten (10) years of diverse and continuous post-
qualification experience in university administration, including at least three (3)
years as a Deputy Registrar.

will also be provided.

(d) Bursar
The Responsibilities
The Bursar is the University's Chief Financial Officer and is responsible to the
Vice-Chancellor for the daily financial administration and control of the
University’s financial affairs.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a good honours degree (at least Second-Class Lower
Division), preferably in Accounting, Economics, Financial Management, or any
related field or subjects from recognised tertiary institutions.
Must have professionally recognised accountancy qualifications, such as ICAN,
ACMA, ANAN, and ACCA. Holding a higher degree will be an added advantage.
The candidate should have at least fifteen (10) years of experience after obtaining
their honours degree and ten (3) years of experience following their professional
qualification. Additionally, the candidate must hold the position of Deputy Bursar
at a university or an equivalent role in a comparable institution, with a minimum of
three years in that position.
The candidate must have clean and impeccable service records, demonstrate high
professional competence, and have a solid understanding of relevant accounting
software applications.
The candidate must demonstrate high accountability, transparency, integrity, and
probity.
Applicants should possess strong computer literacy and be familiar with using
ICT-based accounting packages.

(e) University Librarian


The Responsibilities
The proposed university will operate six libraries: the Main Library, the Law
Library, the Faculty of Humanities, Management, and Social Sciences Library, the
School of Applied Sciences Library, and the Student Hostel Library. Additionally,
there is a noisy ancillary library in the cafeteria. Each library is situated in different
areas of the university, and it is the University Librarian's responsibility to manage
all libraries while upholding the university's decentralised library policy. Procuring
new academic journals and subscriptions to all significant online libraries within
the global system is also essential. The candidate must demonstrate exceptional
knowledge of managing an e-library separately located within the university. The
University Librarian is accountable to the Vice-Chancellor.

Qualifications
Candidate for the position of the University Librarian must:
· Possess a good honours degree and a master’s in library and information
science or a related field from a recognised university. Holding a PhD will
be an added advantage.
· Be certified by the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN).
· Possess and demonstrate skills in strategic planning, staff management,
copyright and intellectual property, and financial responsibility.
· Have at least five (5) years of relevant experience in University Library
services. The candidate should hold at least the rank of Deputy Librarian and
must have served in that position for at least one (1) year.
· Possessing a substantial number of scholarly publications (a minimum of 5)
in reputable international and national journals is required.

(g) Dean of Faculty


The University will commence its operations in three faculties: Management and
Social Sciences, Law, and Academics and Examinations. Applicants must hold a
PhD in a relevant field from a recognised and reputable university, have substantial
scholarly publications, and possess a minimum of two years of full-time teaching
and research experience at a university. Candidates should demonstrate the ability
to initiate and supervise research projects and secure grants. Administrative
experience will be advantageous. Successful applicants must be capable of
providing academic and professional leadership in their field.

ensuring teaching, research, and community engagement.

Qualifications and Experience Required for the Positions


Faculties & Departments

1. Professor (UFASS 07): Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant field from
any recognised and reputable university, along with substantial scholarly
publications. They should have at least TEN years of post-doctoral
experience in full-time teaching and research at a university, demonstrating
the ability to initiate and supervise research projects and attract grants.
Administrative experience will be advantageous. Successful applicants must
demonstrate academic and professional leadership in the field.
2. Reader (UFASS 06): Like the previous example, five years of full-time and
research experience at a university are required after completing a post-
doctoral program.
3. Senior Lecturer (UFASS 05): Same as 1 and 2, except three years of
experience is required.
4. Lecturer I (UFASS 04): Candidates must have a doctoral degree in a relevant
field and one year of postdoctoral teaching and research experience.
5. Lecturer II (UFASS 03): Candidates must have a PhD or a Master’s degree
in a relevant field and one year of teaching and research experience.
6. Assistant Lecturer (UFASS 02): Candidates must have a Master’s degree in a
relevant field.
7. Graduate Assistant (UFASS 01): Candidates must possess a first degree with
at least a Second-Class (Upper Division) in the relevant field.

3. UNIVERSITY LIBRARY
Dedicated and detail-oriented library officers are needed to fill the
University of Fortune’s vacant positions. Successful candidates will be
expected to assist the University Librarian in managing library resources and
ensuring the smooth operation of library services. The positions include
Senior Librarian.

ii. Library Officer I & II.


Qualifications and Experience Required for the Positions
1) Senior Librarian (UFASS 04): Candidates must possess a minimum of a
master’s degree in library science or a related discipline. An additional
postgraduate degree, such as a Ph.D., will be advantageous. Candidates
should have at least eight (3) years of continuous work experience in a
university setting with a postgraduate Library Science qualification.
Candidates must have an appropriate quality and quantity of academic
publications.

2) Library Officer I & II (UFNASS 08/07): Candidates for the position of


Library Officer I must possess a bachelor’s degree in library science or an
allied discipline not below Second-Class lower division with 2 years
cognate post-qualification experience. A bachelor’s degree in library science
or an allied discipline is required for candidates for the position of Library
Officer II.

4. NON-ACADEMIC STAFF
(a) Registry
The University of Fortune seeks highly motivated and qualified individuals
to join its Registry Department. Successful candidates will contribute to
efficiently managing student records, admissions, and academic services
within the university. Dynamic and results-oriented professionals are invited

1. Deputy Registrar (UFNASS 14): Candidates must possess a good first degree
not below second-class lower division in Arts, Humanities, or Social
Sciences from a recognised university, along with 5 years of post-cognate
qualification experience, a significant portion of which must be in the
Administrative Cadre of a tertiary institution. Applicants for this position
must have served as a Principal Assistant Registrar for at least three (3)
years. Membership in a recognised professional body, such as ANUPA,
NIM, IPMN, AUA, etc., is compulsory. A postgraduate qualification will be
an added advantage.
2. Administrative Officer I & II (UFNASS 08/07): Candidates for the position of
Administrative Officer I require a good first degree, not lower than a second-
class lower division, in Arts, Humanities, or Social Sciences from a
recognised university, along with three years of relevant post-qualification
experience. For Administrative Officer II, candidates must also hold a
second-class lower division in Arts, Humanities, or Social Sciences from a
recognised university.

3. Confidential Secretary I & II (UFNASS 08/07): Candidates must possess a


good HND or B.Sc. in Secretarial Studies or Office Management and three
years of relevant post-qualification experience.

4. Data Processing Officer I & II (UFNASS 08/07): Candidates for the Data
Processing Officer I position must possess a good Higher National Diploma
not below Lower Credit in Computer Science or other relevant disciplines
from a recognised Polytechnic, along with 2 years of post-cognate
qualification experience. The same applies to candidates for the Data
Processing Officer II position without qualifications or experience.

3. Accountant I & II (UFNASS 08/07): Candidates must possess a good first


degree, not below second-class lower division, in Accounting or other
finance-related disciplines (II), plus knowledge of a computerised
accounting system and at least 3 years of relevant post-qualification
experience (I).

4. Procurement Officer (UFNASS 09): Candidates must possess a good first


degree, not below second-class lower division, in Accounting, Business
Administration, Economics, Marketing, Computer Science, or other relevant
disciplines, with at least six years of post-qualification experience in a
similar position. A master’s degree will be an added advantage.

5. Higher Executive Officer II (Accounts) (UFNASS 07): Candidates must


possess a good higher national diploma not below lower credit in
Accountancy, Business Administration, Economics, or other relevant
disciplines from a recognised Polytechnic.

6. Executive Officer (Accounts) (UFNASS 06): Candidates must possess a good


National Diploma not below lower credit in Accountancy, Business
Administration, Economics or other relevant disciplines from a recognised
Polytechnic.

(c) Internal Audit

(f) Directorate of Information and Corporate Services (DICS)


The University seeks to recruit qualified, competent, and motivated

2. Communications Officer I & II (UFNASS 08/07): Candidates must possess a


good first degree not below a second-class lower division in Mass
Communication or English Language from a recognised university. A
minimum of 5 years post-qualification cognate experience is required for
candidates applying for the position of Communications Officer I, while a
minimum of 3 years post-qualification cognate experience is required for
candidates applying for the position of Communications Officer II.

(g) Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit


The ICT Unit is responsible for supporting the University’s digital
infrastructure, enhancing technological capabilities, and ensuring the smooth
operation of IT services on campus. As part of UF’s commitment to
innovation and excellence, UF seeks qualified and motivated individuals to
join its team. Successful candidates will work in a dynamic environment,
collaborating with faculty, staff, and students to improve IT services, support
academic and administrative operations, and drive digital transformation at
the University. Interested candidates must meet the required qualifications
and experience stated below:

i. Director, ICT (UFNASS 15): Candidates must possess a good first degree,
not below second-class lower division, in Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, or a related field from a recognised University, with at
least 8 years of relevant post-qualification experience. Professional
certification or membership in relevant regulatory bodies is required. A
Master’s degree or appropriate professional qualifications can be
advantageous.

ii. Senior Network Engineer (UFNASS 09): Candidates must possess a


bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information
Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication, or a
related field from an accredited university. A master’s degree is preferred but
not mandatory. Professional certification or membership in a relevant
regulatory body, e.g., CCNP, CISSP, JNICP, AZURE Network Engineer
Associate, is required, in addition to at least 5 years of cognate post-
qualification experience.

iii. Senior Software Engineer (UFNASS 09): Candidates must possess a


strong bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science,
Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronic
Engineering, Telecommunication, or a related field from accredited
universities. A master’s degree is preferred but not mandatory. Professional
certification or membership in a relevant regulatory body, e.g., CCNP,
CISSP, JNICP, or AZURE Network Engineer Associate, is required, in
addition to at least four years of relevant post-qualification experience.

iv. Senior Programmer (UFNASS 09): Candidates must possess a bachelor’s


degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information
Technology, or a related field from an accredited university. A master’s
degree in a relevant field may offer an additional advantage. Proficiency in
programming languages such as JAVA, Phyton, C++, PHP, or JavaScript is
mandatory. Professional certification or membership in a relevant regulatory
body, e.g., CCNA, AZURE Developer, OCP, is required, alongside a
minimum of 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience.

v. Network Engineer I & II (UFNASS 08/07): Candidates must possess a


bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Network
Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university. A master’s
degree in Networking, Cybersecurity, or IT-related disciplines, although
optional, could be advantageous. Professional certification or membership in
a relevant regulatory body, e.g., CCNP, CISSP, CompTIA, MCSE, Red Hat
Certified Engineer, is required. While it is necessary for candidates for the
position of Network Engineer I to have at least 3 years of relevant post-
qualification experience, candidates for the position of Network Engineer II
should have at least 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience.

vi. Software Engineer I & II (UFNASS 08/07): Candidates must possess a


bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information
Technology, or a related field from an accredited university. A master’s
degree in these fields is optional but advantageous. Proficiency in
programming languages such as JAVA, Phyton, C++, PHP, or JavaScript is
mandatory. Professional certification or membership in a relevant regulatory
body, e.g., CCNA, AZURE Developer, OCP, can be an added advantage.
While it is required for candidates for the position of Software Engineer I to
have at least 4 years of cognate post-qualification experience, candidates for
the position of Software Engineer II should also have at least 3 years of post-
qualification cognate experience.
vii. System Programmer/Analyst I & II (UFNASS 08/07): Candidates must
possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering,
Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited university. A
Master’s Degree in these fields is optional but advantageous. Proficiency in
programming languages such as JAVA, Phyton, C++, PHP, or JavaScript is

While it is required for a candidate for the position of Software Engineer I to
have at least 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience, a candidate f
or the position of Software Engineer II should have at least 3 years of
relevant post-qualification experience.

viii. System Analyst I & II (MIS) (UFNASS 08/07): Candidates must possess
a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information
Technology or a related field from an accredited university. A master’s
degree in these fields is preferred, but optional. Proficiency in programming
languages such as JAVA, Phyton, C++, PHP or JavaScript is mandatory.
Professional certifications such as CISA, PMP, ITIL, or TOGAF are optional
but advantageous, in addition to at least 4- and 5-year cognate post-
qualification experience for System Analyst I and System Analyst II,
respectively.

ix. Data Processing Officer (UFNASS 07): Candidates must possess a


bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data
Science, Statistics, or a related field from an accredited university. A
master’s degree in these fields could be an added advantage. Professional
certification, such as CompTIA Data+, ITIL Foundation, or CCNA, is
optional but advantageous, in addition to at least 3 years cognate post-
qualification experience.

i. ICT Support Desk Officer (UFNASS 07): Candidates must possess a


bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related
field from an accredited university. Additional advantages include
professional certifications such as Comptia A+, ITIL Foundation, or
Modern Desktop Administrator Associate. A 3-year cognate post-
qualification experience is required.

One specialised Research Centre, namely the Centre for Modern War, Peace
and Security Studies, is being established to domesticate new knowledge and
technology, serve as an avenue for national and community services, and

modern war, peace, and security studies. Therefore, the University of

08/07]: Applicants for the position of Research and Development Officer I

patents will be an added advantage. Experience in industrial collaboration

(i) Directorate of Works and Physical Planning


The Directorate of Works and Physical Planning plays a crucial role in
developing, maintaining, and managing the university’s infrastructure and

possess a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Urban and Regional
Planning, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction
Management, or a related field from an accredited university. A master’s
degree in these courses will be an added advantage. Professional
certification or membership in a relevant regulatory body, e.g. COREN,
TOPREC, MNITP, ARCON, ERB, NIQS, NSE, is required, in addition to at
least 18 years cognate post-qualification experience.
ii. Architect I & II (UFNASS 08/07): Candidates must possess a bachelor’s
degree in architecture from an accredited university. Registration with the
relevant Architectural Board or Council is required. For Architect II, a
minimum of 3 years of experience in architectural design, planning, or
construction is necessary. However, at least seven (4) years of professional
experience is needed for Architect I. Candidates must be proficient in design
software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, and Adobe Suite.
iii. Engineer I & II [Civil, Electrical & Mechanical] (UFNASS 08/07):
Candidates must possess a first degree of no less than second-class lower
division in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical
Engineering. For Engineer I, at least 2 years of post-qualification cognate
experience or a master’s degree in these disciplines is required, while
Engineer II requires 3 years of cognate post-qualification experience.
iv. Builder I & II (UFNASS 08/07): Candidates must possess a Higher National
Diploma or a bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil
engineering from accredited universities. Registration with the relevant
Building Boards or Councils is required. A minimum of 2 years of
construction experience is necessary for Builder II. However, at least seven
(4) years of professional experience is required for Builder I.
v. Urban Planner I & II (UFNASS 08/07): Candidates must possess a
bachelor’s degree in urban and Regional Planning from an accredited
university. However, a master’s degree is often preferred. Registration with
TOPREC and NITP is required. Town Planner II needs a minimum of 3
years of experience. However, at least seven (3) years of professional
experience is necessary for Town Planner I.
vi. Craftsman [Mason, Electrician, Plumber, Mechanic, Carpenter] (UFNASS
05): Candidates must possess a Diploma or Certificate from Trade Schools,
polytechnics, or apprenticeship programmes and have 1-3 years of hands-on
experience.
vii. Motor Driver I & II (UFNASS 03): Candidates must possess a minimum of
a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCCE) and a valid driving license.
A minimum of three to five years of experience is required for the Motor
Driver I and II positions, respectively.

Surgery (MBBS) degree. They must be fully registered with the MDCN and
have at least five (5) years of post-housemanship experience. These
qualifications and professional registrations also apply to Medical Officer II;
however, candidates in this category must possess at least three (3) years of
post-housemanship experience.
iii. Pharmacist I & II (UFNASS 08/07): Applicants for the position of
Pharmacist I must possess a Bachelor of Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy
Degree. Applicants must be registered with the Pharmacists Council of
Nigeria (PCN). A master’s degree in clinical pharmacy, pharmacology, or
other relevant fields may be advantageous. Candidates must have at least
five (5) years of post-qualification experience. The qualifications and
professional registration also apply to Medical Officer II, who must have at
least three (3) years of post-qualification experience.
iv. Biomedical Engineer I & II [Equipment Maintenance] (UFNASS 08/07):
Candidates for both positions must possess a bachelor’s degree of at least
Second Class Lower Division in Biomedical Engineering or
Electrical/Electronic Engineering. Applicants must be registered with
COREN, and proficiency in computer use is an added advantage. Candidates
for Biomedical Engineer I must have at least five years of post-qualification
experience, while three years of post-qualification experience is required for
Biomedical Engineer II.
v. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer I & II (UFNASS 08/07):
Applicants for the position of HSE Officer I must possess a Bachelor of
Science degree in Environmental Health or a related field. Professional
certification in Occupational Health and Safety, such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or
their equivalents, may be advantageous. Candidates must have at least five
(5) years of post-qualification experience. Candidates for HSE Officer I
must have at least five (5) years of post-qualification experience, while three
(3) years of post-qualification experience is required for HSE Officer II.
vi. Nursing Officer I & II (UFNASS 08/07): Applicants for the position of
Nursing Officer I must hold a good bachelor’s degree in nursing science and
have complete registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of
Nigeria (NMCN). Candidates should possess at least five (5) years of post-
qualification experience. Applicants for the position of Nursing Officer II
must hold at least a Registered Nurse (RN) and Registered Midwife (RM)
certificate from a recognised institution. Complete registration with NMCN
is required, and candidates must have at least three (3) years of post-
qualification experience.
vii. Staff Nurse/Midwife (UFNASS 06): Applicants for the position of Staff
Nurse must hold a good bachelor’s degree in nursing science or a Registered
Nurse Certificate. Candidates must possess a Registered Midwife (RM)
qualification to obtain the position of Midwife. All candidates must be
registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).

Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSCE) and have completed a

(CSP) or hold an equivalent position in any branch of the Nigerian Armed
