Computer Basics Module Structure

1.a

How to start and restart a computer, learn about components of computer, applications, task-bar and
file structure (opening an app, minimizing, resizing and closing an app, creating saving and
naming/renaming folder) open paint and try to draw something with mouse, give it a name and save
the file on desktop.

1.b

Typing practice:

learn the assignment of 10 fingers to different keys on keyboard reference:

to write words like tom, bun , gun , hat (your name) without looking at keyboard on notepad.

2.a

warm up with typing a short introduction about yourself, and save the file on desktop see how the
files on desktop your paint and txt are different hence learn about the extension of files and different
apps open files with different extensions, explore the computer with my computer and look at how
each file takes some storage that sums up your used memory and find out how much memory is not
being occupied, try playing different media files.

2.b

learn about hardware like pen drive and DVDs, learn about copy paste, cut paste and try to copy and
paste a file from your pen drive to computer, learn about word, excel and Power Point.

3.a

learn about Internet, how can you connect your pc with internet through LAN, ethernet or hotspot,
check your internet speed, learn what is a website visit, different websites, try to download
something, learn about html, and learn how can you open an html file on browser.

3.b

instructions: what is an OS, and difference in the experience between different OS.

4.a

Make a PowerPoint presentation on the topic given by instructor.

4.b

animate your presentation, learn about mail and create a google account and mail your presentation
to instructor.

day 5 and day 6 HTML workshop create at least 2 web pages


day 7 and 8 Python workshop (basic syntax knowledge, how to run a programme, do arithmetic
operations using python, understanding the use of basic library functions etc)
