Teacher Notes
 I project the first page of each concept onto the
whiteboard/Smartboard and have students copy down the
information as I go over it. I have the students complete
the “Your Turn” page and call up students to explain their
answers and solve the problems on the board. Please know
that you can decide however you want to present the
material. This is just an option and you might find a better
option that fits your classroom needs.
 You do not have to use my exact “I can…” statements or
notes (answer key). You can also have students add any
additional notes onto the pages that you believe are
important for them to know.
 I provide a lot of great insight on how I implement the
notebook in my classroom. In addition, there are a lot of
pictures that show examples of my notebook. You can go
to my website at www.mathindemand.com to see these
examples and check out other resources.

What is the least common multiple between two numbers?

The smallest common multiple that is divisible by

both of the numbers.

Follow these steps when determining the least common multiple:

Step 1: Write down a list of the multiples

for each given number.

Compare the lists and determine which

Step 2: number they have in common. Make sure
that it is the smallest common number.

LCM of Venn
6 and 8 Diagram

Multiplies of 6 and 8 are: 6 LCM 8

6 = 6, 12, 18, 24, … 4
6 8
8 = 8, 16, 24, 32, … 24 16
12
18 32
They both have in common 24, …

which is the least common
multiple. Hence, LCM is 24. LCM = 24
