Important options of MS Excel

 How to Start – Go to destination – RC (right click) – New- Microsoft Excel


Worksheet – Give the name – Open the new sheet by double click or enter.
 How to save – File – Save / Ctrl+S.
 How to insert new worksheet & rename – RC on existing sheet – insert
– worksheet- ok/ just click on +
 How to rename the worksheet – RC on worksheet – Rename/ double
click on worksheet & give name.
 How to print – File – Print/ Ctrl+P – setting – print active sheet or print
selected area. –Print
 Insert/Delete Row/Column – RC on Row/Column – Insert/Delete.
 Next line in Cell – Alt + Enter
 Merge Column/Row – Select the rows/column – click on merge on
alignment tab.

 Few important shortcuts: -


 Copy - Ctrl+C
 Paste - Ctrl+V
 Cut - Ctrl+X
 Save - Ctrl+S
 Undo - Ctrl+Z
 Redo - Ctrl+Y
 Select all - Ctrl+A
 Search/Replace - Ctrl+F
 Print - Ctrl+P
 Bold - Ctrl+B
 Underline - Ctrl+U
 Italic - Ctrl+I

 Table properties & formatting: -


 Give the column heading & details.
 Give the serial no & drag it for next continue no.
 Select the table click the wrap text option in alignment tab then double
click between column & row to justify the text in cell.
 Select the entire table – Apply the border from front tab.
 Format the table as your desire – Select the table – RC on table – format cell.
 Freeze pane – to freeze column/row: go to View tab – Freeze pane.

 Uses of formulas: -
 Use the simple formula by sign (i.e. =, +, -, *, /, etc) or click auto sum from
editing tab as your desire.
 Use specific formula: =sum - cont.+A - select the different rows/column for
addition - OK.
